Using Astraweb and Mweb. Astraweb is non ssl, since that is against the rules. So they are simply shaping it to moer and gone...

Effectively the upgrade has done nothing for my experience at all!

Not sure about that. I ran a test, if I enable SSL the downloads go from the 40ish to 320...so it is their shaper at it. Again, Mweb ops is slapping everyone that is happy on the back and ignoring every one else...

If I am only supposed to get 40ish, just come out and say so, then I know I am getting 100% of what I should.

well i use SSL and have yet to get a warning, i think it's only if you abuse it is when they hand you a stern warning since i have yet to get one

I keep my downloads after hours and weekends...try to be a good MWeb citizen, but it is hard when the speed is this slow...

Hi Monkeybot

The first planned increase took place this weekend, we have also decided to bring the next international bandwidth upgrade forward by a couple of months, and we expect this to be completed by the end of October. By then we will have increased the size of our network by just over 50% and considering that less than 30% of our base was previously using the SAIX network, this should give you a fair idea of how much additional capacity you will have available to you.

Kind regards
MWEB Operations

Thanks

Straatkat could you possibly compare what you're experiencing on Astraweb to another source of P2P and let us know how that looks?

Terrible! I keep on getting kicked off WoW and I'm getting horrid latency. This is SO frustrating. It also annoys me that MWEB Ops only replies to the positive comments, not the people who have problems..... -.-

The thing is, MWEB has replied to questions, and to be hnoest, i think they tired of repeating themselves. So hence the replies to positive comments only for now.

They did just do the promised upgrade to fix things that doesn't seem to be working...

Hi TheYak International latency should be fine at the moment are you experiencing any problems with anything besides WoW?

@xrapidx We've had plenty of reports of great P2P speeds so far today. Those of you who aren't happy seem to have Astraweb in common. I'm not sure why that should be the case, but I'll escalate this to our networks team and ask them to look into this.

Could you possibly provide us with the server addresses and connection types used?

My torrent speeds have been abysmal. In the 0.8 - 10 kB/s.

*shrug*

I've just tested this myself, torrents are running at 20 - 25k on a 384k line.

Perhaps you need to check your sources?

so my connection improved this morning in that I could actually connect to mweb news server and download at a constant 20-30KB/s on a 512 line. Suddenly at about 8:40pm on the same content i'm between 46 and 53KB/s. Shaping or more improvements? I hope it's improvements! It could also be that suddenly i'm on to RARs that are cached though...

I've been on 20 - 22kb/s for the last two hours. To be honest hoping it picks up later. Slowly dropped to 15 around 4 this afternoon and been on (an ever so slow) increase since then. Thank you Mweb for you interest in our peformance.

80kbps on 4mb ......... FML .....

starcraft is laggy. wow ping is bleh...

There is a known issue with latencies at certain exchanges. Just check your 3rd hop on a traceroute and report it to him, maybe it's one currently not listed which can be sent through for investigation.

Currently running at 2.1 kB/s.

The source is one that has worked well before, but fair enough, I will fish around a bit and see if there is a problem from my side of things.
