I have checked this today during my lunch hour and I must say the Latency is back down to what it was this weekend. The speed wasn't as high but I don't expect that much during the day as long as I get 30-50KB/s during the day for Torrent and at night the speed picks up a little I'm a happy camper.

Regards
Hellhound

My torrents were flying over the weekend. Come Monday and they are crawling at 5Kbps, even after hours.

My WoW latency was about 400ms, now its up to 900-1000ms.

What the hell is going on?

My astroweb downloads are now going at 3kb (on a 4 MEg line), local mweb news does not even connect since around 7:15pm

MWEB what the hell is going on???????????????

Something is seriously wrong here

Wow, 34k/sec downloading from SAIX. Not even a network notice on MWEB's page, be it Telkom's fault or not. Good stuff.

Filehosting sites are going pretty well. First time I saw >100KB during the day in ages. With two of them going now speeds around 250-300KB.

Weird that the different types of P2P vary so hugely. I wouldn't be using torrents on MWeb though unless I had too.

Wierd indeed, also no real pattern to it. Yesterday during the day NNTP was flying, then last night it came to a grinding halt. Today it was crawling along at about 20kBps (ok for day time I guess), then it shot up at about 7pm, just to die again 30 minutes later. Now past 8pm I would have expected it to be less shaped (or whatever they doing to it), but no joy, still crawling at 10 to 20 kBps. At this rate uncapped is hardly worth the money and capped is starting to make more sense.

Very very erratic speeds. Thought it was my setup but i guess not.

lol just checked, the MWEB news server is actually out performing Supernews. Clear biased toward international traffic.

Hi,

This is directed specifically @ Mweb.

Should a file from this site:

http://dl.free.fr/overload.html

Be shaped to a couple of kB/s.

It's 700 megs and I don't relish the thought of having to take 18 bloody hours to download the thing.

Don't appreciate the utter lack of response. Download crashed at 150 megs.

My torrent that I am desperately trying to download is now running at under 1 kB/s. It was up to the twenties at some points during the day, so there is nothing wrong with the source, as suggested by the rep a couple of days ago.

My feelings towards Mweb are taking a definite downward shift frankly.

*shrug*

I've had enough! My cancellation has been handed in.

As we I type I'm was barely able to load this page (took over 30s). I'm also trying to remote into the office to do work but no joy on this stupid account!! I can spend R539, with better results, elsewhere!

Connection to the news server is like a hide and seek game, torrents are maxing out at well under 100kbs.

So much for MWeb's promise of things being better after the upgrade. Bit of a blatant lie which they have yet to satisfactorily address.
