MWEB Uncapped Subscribers Feedback

I agree with everyone complaining about the low after hour speeds, but that said, the way I look at it is simple. Even if I only manage to get 30 gigs for a month on my 512 package, that translates to R10/gig, which is by no means a worthless product. It might not be the quickest 30 gigs available, but pretty close to the cheapest.

You don't actually read and understand what we are saying, do you?

You were complaining that your access was shaped. So I recommended that you get an unshapped account.

Exactly - by dad and brother uses a 384 account. My dad uses internet banking and email only and my brother does torrents only. The monthly usage ranges from 29GB to 49GB - exceptional value considering what they are paying.

F* you Gumby.

You forgot the rest of the posts pointing to MWEBs post - retarded much?

Worst part is, that's not proof - that's a He-said-she-said.

BTW - this applies to you.

Not at all, however queuing up multiple downloads so as to constantly keep your line running at full speed 24/7 falls into the category of not playing fair.

Regards
MWEB Operations

See what I did there?

I won't deny that some of my post can be interpreted as trolling, but you will find that everything I have posted here is based on solid sources and conclusions. It is just a pity that some people fight against reality and continually complain about a product that is doing exactly what is was designed to do.

You complain that before the upgrade you got good speeds but now you don't. What if part of the upgrade was to implement shaping on services you use? Surely that would be an upgrade to others because now there is more bandwidth for them? When I suggested the internet addict package I meant it - and I can assure you it will fix your problem.

"Some people" seem to outnumber your "opinion" with no real sources or "conslusions" (no clue what that is). Kinda makes you wonder who's in touch with reality.

Rouxenator trolls in various threads.

Odd really - because if I remember correctly, he never used too - maybe he hit his head or something.

People who think trolling is "cool" have got to be from the bottom of the gene pool.

Says you who thinks you should get the same on your R800 p.m account as people with a R2500 p.m account. Raaaaiiiit.

Where did I say that? Would you mind pointing me to the post - all you seem to have are baseless claims... I guess once you've gone troll.....

OK - so lets go troll hunting then.

Lets look at what I have done in retrospec :
1) Pointed out how NNTP works and highlighting its shortcomings
2) Explaining why M-Web has two types of uncapped accounts and highlighting that one is unshaped for a reason
3) Gave reasons why M-Web should not spend money on its news server infrastructure and where than money could be put to better use

All you guys have done was :
1) Complain about the slow speeds on NNTP
2) Argue against the way NNTP works
3) Complain about the shaping on your shaped accounts (seriously WTF?)
4) Fail to understand why the unshaped internet addicts package exists.

Now taking all that into reasoning I think you will find that we do not have a troll in our midst.
No, what we have here are trolls - plural - and for once I am not part of the collective.

Yip - that's how trolling works - a mass of people gain up against one.

Oh - and could you point out where we argued HOW NNTP works? I know I haven't argued about how it works? Another baseless claim  (again)

OK, enough "Days of our lives" please...See below, we all agreed when signing up.

"We reserve the right to manage our network in order to optimize its efficiency for the benefit of all our subscribers. We may take any other action we deem appropriate in order to help ensure the integrity of the network experience for all subscribers."

http://www.mweb.co.za/legalpolicies/September2010Terms/0910MWEBConnectADSLandDialUpTermsandCond.aspx#AcceptableUsePolicy

It would just be appreciated if MWEB can give more info on what they are doing instead of
"Looking into it" Surely most of the consumers would be great full...:)

I know the policy says : "12.9 We do not make any express or implied representations, warranties or guarantees regarding the availability, accuracy, reliability, timeliness, quality or security of the ADSL Service."

:DLast night I downloaded a torrent at 340kB/s+ (2:00 in the morning), I hope after hours and weekends stay like this though!:D:D

DETAILED USAGE FOR: October 2010
TOTAL USED: 196108.4MB

Well, you said that 24/7 http downloading wasn't against MWeb's FUP, and worse, you mocked xrapidx for it. He then proved you wrong with a post from MWeb Operations. Which you ignored. That seems trollish to me.

You complain that before the upgrade you got good speeds but now you don't. What if part of the upgrade was to implement shaping on services you use?

Well, if that is the case, then MWeb lied - and not for the first time - as while the upgrades were being done, their rep said that after the upgrade, all problems (P2p/nntp downloading etc) would be as before. They also said that nntp downloads would be 100%, then after they came up with this new story about it being an old technology, and not too many users utilise it. They still haven't answered my questions regarding those, by the way.

Let me remind everyone what I am complaining about:

Two people, from two houses, one in the Cape Town southern suburbs, the other from the west coast. Both have EXACTLY the same setup: hardware, software, services and connection speeds. Using a paid for Usenet service, one gets full line speed, the other gets less than 10%.

So. There is a problem.

Get it?

Edit: remember we all got full line speed before the "upgrade", after hours mind you.

Roux, understand?

This upgrade was one bad thing happening. Did you meant taking away 1.2GB/s or increasing 1.2GB/s

I am moving out of my place after november and will need to suspend my account with mweb, till I can sort out my life. DO i need to give a month cancellation notice ? so i need to tell them before october runs out?
