MWEB Uncapped Subscribers Feedback

lol see what I mean, I barely get 1gig from 1am to 6am on my 512 account, using MWEB's server and subscribed server. If I leave it on 24/7 it makes no difference, during the day 95% of the time it trickles between 0kBps - 2kBps. Weekends I get 10kBps from 8am to 1am, if I'm lucky, and from 1am to 8am I get about 50kBps.

Move in next door to me ;)
Wonder if any Cape Town users experance the same as you

It seems that if you know how - these are the expected speeds you'll get
Why not all of us is my question - why the fortunate ones ? - is this discrimination ?
I am jealous :'( top being a HTTP download, bottom is NEWS server (paid)

same here, started just less than 10 mins ago and 3 hours before WoW Cataclysm...

HTTP is dead atm!!! doing 10kb/s on a 4meg line/account! Ridiculous!! anybody else having issues?

Seems to be problems on one of MWeb's links to SEACOM. Severe congestion and high latency.

My HTTP was also doing 7KB/sec on a 4Mbps line (now up to a just tolerable 24KB/sec).

Terrible speeds at the moment

I am also experiencing terrible speeds at the moment. Although I only have a 2MB sync to the exchange due to distance I average about 300Gig+ per month. Right now there is definitely an issue. My HTTP downloads which usually max at between 200-220KB/s are currently crawling at between 10-30KB/s. Has the Seacom issue from last week been fully resolved?

+1

Did someone flick the wrong switch... it kinda feels that way :P

Hope its sorted soon. (Cape Town)

Update from MWEB Tech Support:

Been on the phone with them for 25 minutes and the final update was that a link to London is down and that traffic is being re-routed. Guess that explains it all.

Someone out there is definitely trying to ruin the Cataclysm launch, come on Mweb... I know you guys can sort this out for us!

The London story seems to be half-true. I found that some sites are taking different routes from others (both in the UK), indicating partial failure on one link. SEACOM itself seems to be unaffected.

Nothing on the Network Status page yet (as usual).

Due to a partial international link failure ADSL users may experience a degraded service, engineers are investigating.

Kind regards
MWEB Operations

Well MWEB if this is degraded service tonight, then I am happy. I am busy downloading via HTTP (no not using a VPN) and downloading at between 150KB/s-200KB/s. NICE! Haven't tried streaming tonight though
