The thought of an 512k unshapped downgrade has occurred to me too..
The problem is, is anyone better. What's a 512k 24x7 unshapped package going to cost?

Its only R100 more than the shaped 4 meg... but there will additonal electiriciy costs.. as then you will have to download 24/7
I dont download 24/7
The problem is with the poor downloads speeds I'm getting I find myself having to download 24x7.![]()
I am amazed that you are on uncapped considering your usage. Why not use Afrihost 50GB option. It will cost you less and you get full line speed ALWAYS.I know because I moved to them from MWEB a month ago after getting fed up with the shaping on MWEB.I agree - I am by no means a heavy downloader (usually no more than 30 - 40gb pm, and that is very seldom) but since signing up with MWEB I've had to leave downloads running through the day just to get them completed at a decent time! I understand that shaping occurs with respect to torrents, but my question remains unanswered - why are some people getting a solid 400kBps with torrents, and others crawling? My WoW latency is amazing, streaming is relatively hassle-free, so absolutely no complaints there, but torrents and often HTTP downloads are a real pain when you have a 4-meg line! MWEB Ops has tested my line and confirmed everything is fine, so the only conclusion I can reach is that I'm being shaped to pieces? Yet someone downloading 500GB pm is not? I'm confused!

Anyone having problems accessing DynDNS addresses?
Yes. My router periodically doesn't seem able to connect to update the IP address on DynDNS. Not sure if the problem is Mweb account related or DynDNS.

i can't even watch youtube vids on the lowest quality.
Anyone else having a problem logging into Steam, or is it just me?
Edit: Nevermind, been trying for a few hours now but right after I posted this, it logged in... The hell? :S
M-Web's deep packet inspection is smart enough to determine if certain Steam performance keywords come up in a forum post. Upon detecting these keywords, it briefly reduces Steam shaping, providing access while ensuring increased frustration and confusion.
Fact.
