Now that I my Redafrica account is active, I'm going to cancel. I'm done playing these Seacom/Telkom/peering games. Not to mention how the full-speed window period has gradually decreased to a measly 5 hours now.

Oh yes, true, speedtest is testing HTTP downloads. So MWEB has some explaining to do then, because that's a huge difference in speed: ~7mbps compared to 140kbps.

Hi Will,

Problem on my end. Speedtest tops out at 30KBps and my regular SAIX account tops out at over 400KBps. Something really screwy with MWEB at the moment.

Seriously, you guys still say this is not traffic management (protocol) related . My torrents are running at full blast and the games are stuffed.
I bet half the other poor shapped smucks wish they had our problem torrents at 100% and games at zero? This is an Mweb problem, honestly when have you ever had torrents running at 100% during the day till now. From about 3pm i have been downloading torrents (only because nothing else works) at full tilt, no shaping at all. :erm:
You have noticed only gamers are complaining, the rest are just smiling lol

Just about every post above yours is about speed, its defiantly not only gamers complaining
 
What a roller coaster ride...was so happy last night to find that my connection had apparently been upgraded from 512k to 1mb...but then of course something happened somewhere an everything is back down to ~256k levels since this morning and not much better now past midnight...what the hell is going on?

The latency seems to be back to normal. I havent tested during a raid or anything in WoW as its late, but the latency has dropped from 300 to 250 on England Battleping Server and is on 240ms on the Netherlands Battleping server, much more like it. Thanks mweb!
 
Another international site that i cannot connect to on MWeb but can access it with Telkom,afrihost, www.rugby365.com
