MWEB Uncapped Subscribers Feedback

I'm not sure what original phrasing means. Does it seek to prevent (1) posts complaining about MWEB or (2) posts which are offensive (about anything) and which would generate complaints from other users about the post itself?

I think it has more to do with spammers going to many different forums and posting advertising/spam in these forums, not about people posting anything offensive and having their accounts cancelled.

yeah im just trying to get a headcount because if one more tech support guy tries to troubleshoot this like its just my problem, and ignoring that a lot of people all over the country experiencing this....
so that they can have a look at the issue at a broader scope, not at a per user basis...

It just took me 3hrs20mins to download a 6mb file from Malwarebytes. That same file took a few seconds on my Telkom Account. I'm tired of complaining and being told to try this, do that, change this, buy that, check/change this filter, call this Technician, reset ports, fiddle with the DSLAM, check circuits at the exchange etc. Its frankly costly and an absolute waste of time.

I've been unable to access Gmail in 7 weeks and 2 days. I haven't been able to Stream anything be it YouTube, South Park videos etc. since March. Adobe Shockwave downloads at 3kb. AVG updates at 10kb (it was an improvement from the 2kbs during the WEEKEND).

Phone Mweb after having to wait 20-30mins on hold and get told everything's peachy and it MUST be Telkom.

Queue vicious cycle...

For the first time in my life, I can understand why certain individuals go on rampages!

Let me add my 2c: I have a problem which started last week - I use a Java program hosted in Switzerland, which was working without problems for the last year or so, and this simply stopped working. I can browse to the server via http, I can telnet into the necessary ports, but as soon as I run the program, the connection simply times out. I have had to use an Afrihost account just to be able to continue my day to day work. The problem was reported to Mweb two weeks ago, escalated on Monday last week - and that's the last I have heard... no feedback, no resolution date.

I am at the point of pulling the plug on my Mweb account and moving permanently to another ISP. I don't have time to deal with this.

The thing that bothers me the most is that Mweb won't even admit there is a problem. They won't offer any time frame of when it is going to be better either. Thats what irritates me the most.

Exactly what i have been saying for 3 weeks now.

Its Monday guys, Monday the their shaping kicks in like hell again, floods of complaints will come in the whole week again and they will treat it by telling people to PM details lol. Only reason the complaints seemed better was because it was weekend and they relaxed their shaping. Sadly, they will ignore this as an issue on a broader scope. Im thinking that the pm me your details is used as a placebo. Maybe dunno. Thing is, they said that nothing was wrong with their network so dunno what else we can do tbh :( I have pretty much given up and just leaving my pc on 24/7 now so i can still get all my downloads done.

Downloads dropped to 10kb/s when the weekend ended :(

Create a poll here in the forums?

ye myBB should do an article , clearly there are enough people raging over this to be a minor issue, we are all just trying to get to the bottom of this, so that mweb can be the nr1 budget uncapped ISP again :)

something is horribly wrong today. getting 25kb/s on normal http. I'm so sick of this crap. useless mweb can suck my shiney ballsack

Checked with 3 people I know who also have 4mb uncapped. They also can't stream youtube at 240p. We're all in Pretoria by the way, so it's not only a CT issue, it's everywhere, and I suspect everyone on any sort of shaped account.

this is ridiculous...WA backup account once again flying. I have been a customer for a decade now, but this is now a bit much to tolerate. I have a lot of mates in Germany, and not one has this kind of problems, ongoing.
Their internet access also costs a fraction of the amounts we have to handover, and they are on 16meg lines. Am I expecting too much here if I ask for some consistent connectivity, at relatively decent speeds???

Nr 1 budget uncapped ISP? Paying R700 for troubled internet is not cheap.

Slow Connection

Trying to update my Iphone 4 and it will only take 23 hours for the 660mb update.

Thx Mweb

Hear hear.. They do it on this forum too.

I'd be interested to see how many people that are complaining lately are based in Cape Town. I have three Durban-based friends with 4MB MWEB uncapped accounts that are all experiencing the same terrible speeds as I am (20-30KB/s). If I give the SAME URL to my two Cape Town-based friends to test on their MWEB accounts, they get 250-300KB/sec.

I'm in Durban too and know of at least 10 other people, scattered around Durban who have similar problems of poor connectivity.

Mediocre MWEB May continues unabated; newsgroups slow/unconnectabale, torrents ...s...l...o...w... , standard http downloads disconnect regularly...pages not loading...etc.etc.

N. Suburbs of CT

I'm in Cape Town and having poor speeds. It's everywhere, not limited to a specific region, seems more limited to something else. A certain block of accounts maybe? I'm not sure how that works.

Hi Pseudz

Are you experiencing poor speeds with all web sites? Local as well as international, or any specific site?

Kind regards
MWEB Guy
