Hi MWEB Guy,
Don't just pm people. I also want to know why it's so slow and timing out 90% of the time tonight...
I plan on putting together a post outlining all of my interaction with MWEB and Telkom over the last 2.5 years - that's how long I've been struggling to get my connection to stay un-buggered for longer than a couple of days.
What confuses me is that it has been FANTASTIC for last week or two, maybe even a little longer. I was getting 300+ k/s downloads and 250ms pings (constantly, for hours on end!) in WoW. Now I can barely manage 10k/s if I'm lucky and I can't even connect to WoW!
The thing that annoys me to high hell is that both Telkom and MWEB are telling me that there's nothing wrong. As if I'll waste time mailing them about non-existent problems, 'cos I have that kind of time on my hands.
And, quite (not so) coincidentally, I always seem to have issues when everyone else is having problems as well. But nooo, there's nothing wrong!
Lalalalala! *sticks fingers in ears*
Since last week downloads via fileserve.com have dropped from +- 300kbps to +-50kbps. I am running simultaneous downloads with a fileserve premium account, If speeds do not improve I will have to cancel my mweb account as there will be no benefit of using a premium fileserve account over a free one, is this due to network problems, or aggressive shaping?
Exactly the same for me. I was getting blistering downloads last week and this week some pages don't even want to open up. So... what happened, is what I want to know? I'm starting to think that they put people that whine enough on a faster network segment for a couple of days, just to shut them up.
That's my experience, anyway. If I moan loud enough, it gets better for a couple of days before going *bleep* up again.
