I leave my WiFi open and unsecured and sniff the **** out of the users who connect to it.

OP was on an open network. Mine is not. If you hack in, you steal (I did not invite you to use it (by leaving it open)).So if I hack it, it's fair game?

It's stupid both ways, stupid to leave your WiFi open and stupid to connect to a random open network. It's stupider connecting to the open WiFi imo.If it is open WiFi then might as well call the network free WiFi.
Always put password on.

My wireless network is open at home.. too much of a hassle to encrypt it and enter password on all devices etc etc.
40mbps line + uncapped so i don't care if someone connects and uses my internet.
My network name is in fact Free WiFi, The fact that the radius of the wireless doesn't go further than the boundry walls isn't the point however![]()
I also keep a open SSID for the neighbors etc. I call it guest wifi but I have it isolated from my private network.

As is mine, all new Mac addresses which authenticate on my network get put into a separate VLAN.
Because it's impossible to sniff the other Mac addresses and then spoof one ? Very secure.
Do you get a lot of people hanging around outside your home intercepting couriers with packages they ordered using your internet connection with skimmed credit cards? *Devils advocate*
spoofing the mac won't work without knowing the Ip address it is assigned to already tested it, couldn't get a client's laptop to connect until I added the static Ip address even though the mac was set up in the mac filter.
Stop stealing someone else's bandwidth. Cheapskate.
Errrr... And you think the IP address cannot be sniffed either? Wow.
