MYBB - Mac browser problem

Take a look at the thread I created in OT.
No suggestions from these, maybe because most are windows users.
I have the issue with both Safari & Firefox, so it not browser specific.
It would seem to be java related.

No issue for me either; Mac 10.8.3, Safari 6.0.4; no extensions, Javascript & plugins enabled, Java disabled. Also no problem on Firefox or Chrome.

Check for conflicting Safari extensions, browser plugins and try to enable / disable security options.

Ahh.
I believe that is where the problem lies.
Will disable java on the OS & see what happens.

Nope, enabling or disabling Java has no impact. Mybb has JS not Java.

So it's gone now.

In Safari preferences > security
enable javascript was unchecked

javascript has to be enabled

Now all this time, i assumed javascript should have been disabled to stop these boxes popping up.

Out of curiosity why are you using jump to page so regularly? I can't recall ever having used it. :o

There are several of these all over the page:

Code:
<a href="javascript://" class="popupctrl">Page 6 of 6</a>

I would think that your experience would be the same on any of them (like

Display)

And in the showthread_rollup.css, this class is told what to do. I would think adding the href as javascript:// controls it better. It is an interesting scenario and I will read the .css more closely one day to determine what is happening. But you do have it sorted, so...

I dont.
It seem to have suddenly appeared - I DESPISE it. It just gets in the way and adds frustration, this is why I was determined to be rid of it.
HOWEVER, the last thing I expected was that ENABLING javascript would get rid if it. It seemed more probable that not enabling javascript would prevent the box from popping up.

I can appreciate the need to disable Java, but why would you want to disable Javascript (considering it's the basis of most modern websites)?
Anyway, good to know your problem's resolved.
