I wonder how many "beheer verloor" are simply not understanding 'counter steering'?

I remember it took me a while many years ago

Well there is counter steering and then there is ignoring the laws of physics.

There is a speed limit to any given corner and also approaching it correctly.

the guy ahead of the crashed biker seemed to 'make' the corner

Don't have Facebook so didn't watch the video.

Was just a general statement.

If you came in too fast at the wrong approach you are screwed either way.

agreed, but I've seen many bikers that don't use counter steering, panicking in a turn, even at low speeds - I was in that boat when I started riding

Well technically everyone is using counter steering otherwise they couldn't go around corners.

But I realise you mean actively using the knowledge and applying it more effectively.

Personally I don't think it's what leads to these situations or that it would help having that knowledge because you do it automatically anyway.

It's rather a case of survival Instinct and freezing. Even if you know counter steering if you are freezing that won't matter.

Im thinking of making custom made heelgaurds. Is this something that people will interested in? Aliuminium and powder couted. Send in their own designs or have draw it up to customer specs in 3D. This will be a sideline thing to help supplament my income.

Do you know if their is a market for it?

For something that will just wear away powder coating seems a bit silly.

Personally not an item I would customise for that very reason.

I need a new set of indicators for my Triumph, the plastic has become brittle in the sun. They still work but they are hanging on by the wire, it looks like it has a sad face from the front.

Any suggestions, a new set from Triumph will be R1k + :(

You could try Startline, their prices are good and they have quite a variety of indicators.

They have an online catalogue. Google them and they should pop up on the first page. Can't link unfortunately as I'm on mobile

Buy the pirate versions of those exact Triumph ones off Aliexpress.

Suggestions for somewhere to get tyres around Cape Town? Would prefer a place that can fit them at the same time too. Think I've put it off long enough, the tyre wear indicator is essentially level with the tread now (on the front anyway, back still has at least 3mm). Which brings me to another question, replace both or go out of sync and only replace what's needed?

just bought a set yesterday from flying brick in parden eiland.
Cape bike tyre is fitting them. Cape bike tyre in woodstock, could have sourced the tyres also, but shinko s.a. recommended flying brick as a registered retailer.

Justbiketyre in Brackenfell Industrial.

I've got a new rear with an old front, but same model etc.

I expect will need to change the front at 30,000 so it comes to 1,5 fronts versus rears for me.

Fkn solar powered drivers in Joburg. Need to keep their wheels on the lane markings to drive straight or what?

It's been yonks since last I was out on my bike... :(
