I've got two nipples tattood on my arse, but I'm still stopping. :)

Like the lady on the bonnet with the car, what is the best case scenario compared vs worst case. Not odds I want to play with.
 
I just called for insurance on my GSR 750 miway gave me a quote of R897! I almost fell off my chair. My twister is only R193 and my figo is R625, so I'm quite surprised. Would you consider this a fair price?

< R500. What's the value of the bike?
My GSX-R1000 is R457, worth R65k according to my insurance, and I feel I'm being fleeced.

Are you on a learners or full license? How long have you had it? Shop around though.
My bike on my car insurance was R1.2k cause I'm new. Went to a dual sport specific insurer, and it dropped to R500, which will come down more, once I the full license.

Full licence as of last month. I will definitely do some shopping around

Don’t use direct insurers. None of them do bikes well.

Go to a broker. I use Stepp.

They make a static fee off the top usually and not a percentage or anything like that.

The benefit is they’ll do the leg work to get you the best deal with various insurers.

That bike is a beautiful thing and one of the few air cooled bikes you can still buy new.

So much character. If it was more practical would have had it over the RS any day.

Definitely want one as my Friday/weekend bike.

Learn the roads, I wouldn't suggest speeding on roads you don't know, (Cameras, obstructions, et cetrea)
Google has recently started telling you where cameras are, those I find the notifications don't really keep up with my speed.
Have a plan if you do get chased, somewhere you can get to quickly to hide, but I find most cops don't really worry about bikers, maybe they know a chase would be a lost cause, And I'm told once they lose you they don't want to worry about paperwork..

Yeah but if you wake up to needing to do that too late then you are still buggered.

Ultimately he could also just have stopped.

But this is exactly why I don’t like the idea of Bluetooth headsets and taking calls etc. While on a bike.

So true!! I find that Uber/Taxify/Bolt drivers are a menace as they travel slower than the speed limit so as to make more money out of their passenger, that tends to mess with normal traffic. Car drivers of the luxury kind tend to be the most discouteous and blocks the way so motorcyclists can't pass, think its jealousy because they can't movethrough traffic as easily.

I did not know you can get insurance when only on learners, who can I call?

Hehe... I agree, I just get cranky with the manufactured 'caff racer' thing.

"They're selling hippie wigs in Woolworths..." and all. :rolleyes:
