I don't know about you, but I'm too pretty for jailWhat monumentally bad advice.
The plan should be to slow down and stop at a safe location, not hide from the law.

< R500. What's the value of the bike?I just called for insurance on my GSR 750 miway gave me a quote of R897! I almost fell off my chair. My twister is only R193 and my figo is R625, so I'm quite surprised. Would you consider this a fair price?

They are quite rare, the ones iv seen range from 75 to 85k. I didn't ask what they valued it at but I did ask for retail value.< R500. What's the value of the bike?
My GSX-R1000 is R457, worth R65k according to my insurance, and I feel I'm being fleeced.
Full licence as of last month. I will definitely do some shopping aroundAre you on a learners or full license? How long have you had it? Shop around though.
My bike on my car insurance was R1.2k cause I'm new. Went to a dual sport specific insurer, and it dropped to R500, which will come down more, once I the full license.
Then maybe a bit more than R500, but I'm just guessing here. It's probably still expensive though. They are quite rare, the ones iv seen range from 75 to 85k. I didn't ask what they valued it at but I did ask for retail value.

I always thought brokers would cost more because they still have to add a profit for themselves. But I'll try them out.Don’t use direct insurers. None of them do bikes well.
Go to a broker. I use Stepp.

The 'Mommas Boy' of Cafe Racers.
A caff is supposed to be a frankenbike made out of whatever you couldn't remove from the original. For speed bruv!
Nice bike though I'm sure.
Doesn’t really have much to do with counter steering.
Rather just a case of too little too late.
Pretty solid advice above, I would just like to add...
Learn the roads, I wouldn't suggest speeding on roads you don't know, (Cameras, obstructions, et cetrea)
Google has recently started telling you where cameras are, those I find the notifications don't really keep up with my speed.
Have a plan if you do get chased, somewhere you can get to quickly to hide, but I find most cops don't really worry about bikers, maybe they know a chase would be a lost cause, And I'm told once they lose you they don't want to worry about paperwork..
He wasn't going that fast, and had plenty of road left. He just had to commit and lean the bike properly.![]()
Remarkably... i've found that many Taxi drivers are very courteous around bikers as well.
I have also found taxi drivers to be the most courteous people on the roads, they always move over and make space, and they are never on thier phones, eyes are always on the road looking for passengers and inadvertently noticing bikes, windows are always down (when they work) so they also hear you comming. Also when I'm passing traffic on the white line of a two way Street, taxis check their mirrors for other taxis and bikes before jumping out the traffic to ride in the oncoming traffic Lane, cars will just jump out without looking back coz it's not something they do all the time.
Shut your whore mouth.
That bike is a beautiful thing and one of the few air cooled bikes you can still buy new.
So much character. If it was more practical would have had it over the RS any day.
Definitely want one as my Friday/weekend bike.
Hehe... I agree, I just get cranky with the manufactured 'caff racer' thing.
