Are the denims comfortable though? I'll probably get the x-kulcha ones but I need comfort, if I ride to Jhb and spend the day with some mates or a prospective SO I'd like to be comfy.

I find them comfy. They are much thicker and heavier than normal jeans, and can get quite warm in summer....

Apart from OLX & Gumtree, are there any other classifieds with decent 2nd hand bikes worth keeping an eye on?

I haven't really found anything worthwhile yet. Anyone know of SA bike forums that have a classified section?

FB pages: Bikes for sale south africa, bikes for sale SA, bikes and accessories for sale - SA

if you are in gauteng, x-kulcha has a factory shop at their premises in Joburg, you will find gear with slight defects (stitching mistakes etc)

So Yesterday I saw someone that was almost in a horrific accident in either a BMW GS, or a Triumph Tiger (I was focusing on the event, not the bike).

Rivonia drive traveling out of Sandton opposite the Aston Garage. Right hand lane closed for construction, oke on bike gets in the closed lane to pass traffic. Little did he know there was a trench dug out. I saw how he hit the trench, legs all over the place, bike majour wobble. Somehow he managed to get the bike straight again, and ride off.

Upon closer inspection I see this trench is at least 1m deep, and quite wide (I would estimate +-50-60cm). I dont know how the rider did not crash into the trench, but it was very close.

I bet you the rider wouldn't be able to tell you either. I hit a really nasty pothole a while back and I still can't quite figure out how I managed to stay on. Best guess is we shared a common ancestor who was into bikes and we're now reaping the rewards of genetic memory.

Speed, you go quick enough and hole won't even register. A bump on the other hand...

But seriously, what kind of mong do you need to be to speed down a lane closed for construction?

I know guys who love gunning it on the shoulder of the freeway sometimes - same guys who complain about constant punctures.

Go figure.

I was on a Bajaj Avenger during that particular incident so that pretty much rules out the speed explanation :D

Did an overnighter up Sani Pass this weekend. Started snowing on the way up. Was awesome! This was part of the BMW 100yrs celebration. Coming down on Sunday was a little scary with all the slush & ice! But managed it without dropping the bike!

Anyone know a decent place to service your bike in the Southern Suburbs CPT that is not Suzuki South?

Jeez I reckon they are probably the best out there if you just go out there.

What did they do?
