Honestly, never chin mount. In the event of an accident I don't want anything strapped to the front of my helmet. I have mountings on the top and the side... I've got good footage from both.

Ag I reckon it's just let conspicuous and also doesn't have any wind drag.

I could mount it to the bike under the windscreen but that would be horribly boring.

Maybe for the track day end of October I'll take a few laps from there.

I've also never managed to smash my chin on tar...just the sides and top. :)

I've been using the Garmin Vibe cams, the easy on/off slide for recording just works better for me. Easy to feel if the cam is recording or not... no guessing. As for the camera angle I don't like the extra wide view, even though the software does sort of prevent distortion, the aspect ratio just doesn't look right.

Have Sony Actioncam without casing inside my helmet on the side. It impairs vision on the RHS slightly, but who needs vision. After a year I don't have any interesting footage... just the usual, people grassy-parking over the reds.

I also use a Garmin Virb, side mounted, and record at 720p 60fps, that combo makes it look like I never look at the same thing for more than a few seconds, constantly moving.

Is it worth it to get one? Probably if you gonna do more adventuress stuff hey?
I never get on my bike if I don't have at least one charged GoPro. Riding without my GoPro just makes me feel unsafe.
To work I only use the one mounted on my helmet. Weekends, when I start up my weekend bike I'll use one mounted on my bike facing backwards as well.

Guys who did their license recently, how much detail did you have to go into with regards to the pre check?

Although I knew it all and was prepared for it, I was not even asked to do the precheck..

Yeah they were just a bit more expensive with the typical excess structure.

Like to keep my stuff all in one place, but I would have loved to them if mine wasn't happy.

They only require 5 things from you. That's the mirrors, tyres, spokes of the wheels, chain and chain guard, and loose wires or oil under the bike, in no particular order. Just mention that all those has been checked, mirrors secured, chain is tightened and guard is on, tread at least 1mm deep, spokes are intact, and no oil, petrol or wires under the bike. That's it

Isn't there something about checking the choke as well? I distinctly remember thinking how outdated the checks were. Even on the above some bikes won't have spokes wheels or a chain and will always have oil on the engine (oil fill cap is on the cylinder head).

My CBR doesn't have spokes either, but I mentioned it anyway as the mark sheet required it. The choke I believe comes in when they as you to get on the bike and start it. With my bike being fuel injection, I just aid that it doesn't have a choke or fuel valve. I still have my mark sheet at home from when I did mine in July, I can send a picture of it if you guys want. Basically follow everything on there
