If you can already ride the road is going to be the road regardless of the bike.

But good middle ground would be the KTM390.

MT07 is fine though. MT09 would have been a different story.

I can already ride, I did want the duke 390 but coming from that wr250f the duke is under powered being a road bike.

I fell in love with the mt09 and convinced myself I could use the different riding modes to start off slow. Eventually the I settled for the mt 07 after which I decided it's still too much to spend on a first road bike.

I also want to do some offroading but would like it all in one bike.

RAAAAAAGEEEEEEE

Dropped my bike coming out of the driveway. Left fairing is pretty scratched up and the bike is black so it looks terrible :(

How much would a fairing cost? Do I contact Honda or where can I buy a aftermarket one?

HALP

Picking up my Grom tomorrow. Excited and scared at the same time. Haven't been on a bike in 12 years!!

Sorry bro .
How bad is it just scratches or actually broken ?

Fitted sliders and crash bars on my bike so if i drop it not to much damage will happen , not that i have a fairing any way .

I'm thinking of just painting it for now. I might fall again so would not want to repair it after that. I'll be picking up frame sliders later today.

I'll repair it before I sell the bike.

Congrats on the Groooooom!

How much do you weigh and what is the max speed you got?
I'm somewhere between 95 and 100. I haven't been on a bike in 11-12 years so wasn't speeding and I need to drive it in first. Hit 70 at one stage though.

I keep on short shifting because I rev it like a car. Not used to being able to go that high so had some issues on uphill roads.

Will report back when I've played a bit more and got my confidence back 100%

Nice to be able to put my feet flat on the ground for a change. Never been able to do that before :D

I too dropped my bike today.

Went hiking, got lost, ****ed myself up climbing down the side of a large mountain, and when I finally got back to the gravel parking, and my bike tipped over, my arms were about as useful as two wet noodles.

Couple of scratches. Let's call them character scratches...

Various lessons were learned this day.

Some little shytebrick on a quad was joyriding at my work complex. The fekker lost control and wiped out into my Beemer  knocked over by a full meter, R18K damage.... This was 24th of March... The prick is lucky he didn't get caught under the R1200GS, +270kg not fun to be stuck under.

Lift with your legs ;)
It's one of the first things we silly people with 250kg+ bikes get taught. Easiest is to sit on the bike, hold onto the handlebar and pillon handles then simply walk backwards. Veeery easy to pick it up that way. Just don't walk it so far that it falls on the other side :p

OK, the Grom is SOOOOOO MUCH fun :D

Not that fast at all, hit 80km/h with my weight but will probably get a bit better once I've ridden it in. Around the suburbs and back roads though - AWESOME!

I was able to get it up without an issue. Stopping it from falling, on the other hand...

Once a heavy bike has gone past the "no return" pivot point when leaning, there's very little one can do but have that cold sinking feeling in the pit of your belly as you watch it hit terra firma... Done it once with my GS, I let it down as gently as I could....
