You have to have some dB loss or else what's the point of wearing them?

Made for purpose one filter out the wind noise while keeping the other cars and hooter noises and such in play.

But even generic Builder's Warehouse construction ones are never really a problem that I feel I'm missing anything, they just cause that "vacuum" effect where you hear your own breathing or blood through your ears or whatever.

Check out No Noise plugs.

Super jealous about that Diavel.. The Vespa is a funny touch.

Shame he had to wait till I got a bike before he could, But he's loving the Diavel. So much so, my sunday mornings are "ruined" cos he's at my place before 7 ready to ride.
You should see the attention the Vespa gets when we're out on the roads. HAHA, people look dik confuzzled...
We're like the start to a bad 2 line joke:
So 2 Italians and an American ride into Hout Bay ....

Whats the beat bike to start riding with? Im thinking of getting one, but not sure where to start... any advice?

How tall are you? Especially inseam.

What experience have you got?

How much money do you have?

I'm biased because I own one, but if you are short (like me) the Grom is actually a very good bike to learn on. Lightweight, easy to get both feet down, enough speed to exceed the speed limit around town. Not allowed on highways though.

That said, when I was in school I learnt on a scrambler. They are good for not taking too much damage when you fall.

I learnt on a yamaha wr250f. Bike was way too tall for me, could only get TOES of one side on the ground and only if i shifted my woke body to that side. I'm now looking at getting a Er6-F

Low Budget: Suzuki Gixxer, Sym 125
Medium Budget: Suzuki GW250 Inazuma
Big Budget: Honda NC750x

No, either a Gixxer nor a Sym 125 are decent beginner bikes.

One is too fast, other is too slow and unstable.

How dodgy would it be to use a carbon full face downhill mtb helmet with a scrambler on the road, common sense tells me it's not such a retarded idea?

My logic may potentially be flawed though

I once saw a guy on a scooter, with a white construction helmet and workshop googles driving down Stellenbosch Arterial.

Depends, you think mtb helmets are made to withstand 120km/h crashes?

In other news, my dad bought a new BMW R1200GSA last week

Right before the ±5% price increase that came into effect today

Hilarious :D But sounds like you three have a lot of fun, and that's pretty much what matters the most.

Will never be going much faster than 80km/hr, downhill guys get too some pretty crazy speeds/hectic forces involved.
