now that is sexy.

really missing my bike.

@spiders, if you do contact those guys in cape town, find out if they have a crank for my bike (ill send you details if you want)

I am pretty sure I have tried them already though. I have made so many calls for that bike I have lost track of who I have contacted...

Did you check on ebay?

Did you check on ebay?

I did.

I found one seller that had the right part, a guy based in the USA with a no return policy and a 70% rating, when I contacted him he refused to ship to SA.

I have even looked into Alexpress (found other parts there though...)

Right guys, any advice for riding with brand new tyres on your bike? Just had a set put on, and it's very weird feeling, like I'm scared to turn the bike cause of the newer tyres...

Just smooth on the throttle and do zig zags when you can.

No need to be scared as long as you warm them up properly before gunning it, which is best practise anyway.

After 50km you should be styling.

So wife agreed to me getting a bike.

Question 1: Why the hell are bike shops closed on Sundays?
/feeling sad

If you want an nc, randburg motorcycles seems to specialize in them.
Last I went they had about 4 in stock.

Anyone know where I can get a reasonably priced screen deflector like this?

I've heard they do wonders for wind noise on the highways.

Givi make a nice one, I have it on my R1200GS, didn't break the bank either. My local BMW dealer ordered one for me, but you can buy them online. What I liked the most about the Givi Shield+ is it clamps on. No need to drill holes through your windscreen.

Also Wunderlich does a similar Screen Deflector. I have seen a few on Beemers, they look good too.

Then theres the Aerotrim one from Bike Zone

@CT riders: I hope you all enjoyed your rides yesterday.

I was awoken by the sound of large groups of inline 4s, woke the wife up and asked if she wanted to ride, the two of us suit up and get down to the garage, dead battery.

Couldn't even push start.

Battery spent the whole day on the charger and I finally got it started so at least it didn't have to sit in the street where I gave up trying to push start.

I really hope all you working-bike-having bastards enjoyed your damn selves yesterday.

I live on a busy road that is frequented by riders on any decent weather day.

I sat there watching the charger count down in 0.01 decimal listening to them ride, as if to mock me, all damn day long.

I would have just gone to the shop and bought a battery. But that's just the problem solver in me.

:D

Must be the lazy BMW rider in me but last time my battery needed replacing I phoned BMW, they collected the bike in the morning before work and delivered it nice and clean after work ready in time for the weekend.

That's probably just because you can't push start a BMW if you tried. :)
