He he. Good thing it's not a brand new bike then otherwise the tyres would have been a problem.

Wow Sinbad, swak bru. School fee levels acquired.

I had a beginners motorcycle training with Billy de Beer and son. Well worth the advice and simple techniques.

I'm going for my K53 training next week and then license after a year on a scooter.

I had training at BMW, but yeah, school fees.

Billy is quite good. Did my k53 with him, and i passed very well. I'm actually thinking of doing more training with him. He has an advanced rider training thing I want to do, and also a street smart course...

None yet.
And of course I've just had my first accident. Trying to turn round in sandton city parking lot and lost it and scratched a BMW. That driver wasn't a nice guy. Started off very aggro, "what you gonna do about this, you must just fix it" type stories while I tried to exchange details for insurance. First words "what do you think you're doing", not a single enquiry as to whether I was ok.
Then insisted we wait for the police to come to take statements, because he said I would just disappear if he let me go to the police station. Refused to let me move the bike out of traffic. After like an hour, sandton security convinced him the police weren't coming, they had all my details and they really didn't think I was gonna do a runner.
Angolan, obviously knew fokol about the law in SA.

You have balls taking a bike out to Sandton so early on. This is what quiet neighbourhoods on Saturday and Sunday afternoons are for :p

Haha
Roads were quiet. Not having any problems on the road itself, touch wood. Just getting the hang of the low speed stuff. Problem is with the dct the throttle is quite twitchy from standstill. Works a lot better if I feather the back brake to control things rather than try to use the gas. On the course I learned to feather the clutch - no option of that here.

Yeah that is the only place I also struggle with DCT.

But I'm told owning one you get to manage it and it's just a short term adjustment thing.

I want to take one for a test ride - not that i want to buy one, just want to see how it compares to the other bikes that I have ridden. I used to work with a guy that marshalls cycle races on his 700 - so the riding at low speeds with the DCT will come to you with time. he has even done a few rallies (one to mpumalanga) and raved about the comfort as well

Morning gents.

What is the technical term for this thing-a-ma-bob??

So my bike came with a numberplate the size of a cigarette box, double-sided taped to the back.
Obviously not legal.
But there's nowhere to attach a properly sized one. Should the dealership have included a bracket for it or something?
