My dad told me BMW is adding TFT screens as an option to replace the instrument cluster and I was all :D:D:D

Then I looked at it and gosh it's stupid. If you are in any of the submenus that menu takes over most of the screen, meaning you lose the tachometer. I quite like riding with my tyre pressure screen active almost all the time (especially off road), but gosh I don't need to look at a picture of the bike the whole time  It does interface with your phone, and can do GPS functions etc, but still

The built-in GPS would be the big seller for me.

But then this upgrade costs as much as the GPS so that doesn't really help.

The Germans really just don't know how to design clusters it seems.

I'm sure it will evolve over time and become "free" eventually.

There is so much stupid in my cluster as well.

Left my bike at gautrain today. Somehow it found its way to the side stand when I left it on the center stand... Only thing I can think of is a car bumped it?

Then surely you would find some damage?

Attempted theft maybe?

Questionable memory?

100% sure I put it in the center stand. Theft perhaps, maybe they figured out after putting it on the side that it had a disk lock. Maybe car bumped it just enough to push it off stand but no damage. Don't know why anyone would try move it. Asked security guard and there is no cameras...

Maybe something else happened and they just moved it for some or other reason.

Still it’s a massive invasion of property and privacy.

You would never ever see that **** happening if it was a car.

It interfaces with the Navi 6.... I dont think its a stand alone GPS.

No it talks to the App on the phone and works alone.

But you can still also use the Navigator if you want satellite based info.

Watch it again carefully.

SA Triumph prices tumble as old importer bows out

Triumph UK and Triumph South Africa have parted ways, and the British motorcycles will no longer be imported by Kawasaki Motorcycles SA (KMSA).

Triumph UK is in the process of appointing a new SA importer within the next six months or so, during which time KMSA will continue to support the brand with spares, accessories and warranties.

Arnold Olivier, Brand Director of Triumph South Africa, says the split occurred over Triumph UK’s new retail concept that calls for single, larger dealerships in cities rather than the present model of using a number of smaller dealers. The alternative of upgrading the existing smaller stores would have required a very high financial investment, and the new distributor will clearly need to have deep pockets to meet Triumph UK’s new customer-interface model.

KMSA has been SA’s Triumph distributor for 22 years and is the world’s third largest independent Triumph importer. The 115-year old brand has a strong following in this country with around 4 500 Triumphs on our roads. The Triumph Thruxton R is also South Africa’s reigning Pirelli Bike of the Year as voted for by a panel of motorcycle journalists.

Triumph Motorcycles Ltd is the largest British motorcycle manufacturer, established in 1984 by John Bloor after the original company Triumph Engineering went into receivership. The new company continued Triumph's record of motorcycle production since 1902.

If you’re looking for a biking bargain, now would be a good time to buy a Triumph as KMSA is selling off existing stock at drastically reduced prices.
