I'll be paying Fire It Up a visit then. I do like the sound of that Integrity Package. Thread delivers :)

If you know you more than likely want an NC then just leave your details with them and you’ll know the moment one comes in.

If you have ridden an NC750X and know you want one.
Why not contact Honda Wing Central in Bloem? I looked everywhere for one and could not get a good NC750X or a good deal when I was shopping for one. Phoned them up and they had 3 to choose from 2 that was not listed on their site or on autotrader/Gumtree.
I dealt with a guy named Vincent. They delivered it and helped me via the whole deal without issues.
I had a clause...as I always do when buying from a dealer away from hometown - that it's not as described I return it on their cost. Sometimes they agree on splitting that cost. Worth it imho. Bought 3 bikes like that now and been happy every time.As long as it's from a reputable dealer.

Yeah often good bargains to be had in Bloem and also Kimberley.

But the thing with Fire It Up is the package you get for the money, even if it's slightly more expensive.

Availability is of course an issue.

Thanks, if thing don't work out at Fire It Up, I'll consider this as Plan B. Could make for a really fun road trip at the very least.

anybody know if it's worth trying Fire It Up when selling a bike?

I'm wondering the same thing as I am possibly going to sell mine. Their prices are good in my opinion. They still need to make a profit as well as add their integrity package so I can't imagine the seller gets a great deal. Anyone here sold to FIU?

my last bike I traded in when I got the present bike, but feel the dealer gave me poor trade-in valuation, so will probably see what dealer and what Fire It Up offers when I upgrade next year - dread the idea of a private sale...

Don’t see why not.

Nothing wrong with trying. :)

I know they are quite particular about condition though.

my bike is a 2015 KTM 1290 super adv with only 15k km and spotless - should be in demand?

Yeah shouldn’t be a problem then if their price is right for your pocket.

Going private also isn’t the magical more money option it used to be and takes effort. Especially if you want a quick sale.

I just know they will literally not take a bike in if it’s dodgy in any way, where others would offer less and then make a plan.

Pity it's not the 1290 Adventure R. That will sell in a heartbeat.

the 1290R only launched this year and it depends how much sand the potential owner does, as the R is more off-road biased and does not have the semi-active suspension and has the smaller fuel tank

What you guys think - colleague wants to get a bike and is about 1.9m and 90kg, he is looking at the KTM 390. Isn't that going to be a struggle at anything over 110km/h?

he can get any bike he wants to - all depends on how odd he wants to look riding it. KingMikel about 1.8m tall and he had a 390, Didn't look odd riding it, but i think he is a lot more comfortable on the GS1200.

Only way is to actually go to a few dealerships and sit on the bikes.

I passed a guy before Harrismith on a Sporty - he was way to tall and wide for the bike and looked like Gru on a bike.

Rather a little struggle than dead.

But yeah an NC700/750 or ER6 will be a better bet.

Don't mention 390's to KingMikel :D
