Hilarious, although I share her pain being pretty short myself for the type of bike I ride![]()
And it really is a stupid choice of motorcycle for police/traffic work.
So many better options I can think of.

Anyone know of a place in Cape Town that clean or valet bikes?
Envious? ;DPink Car Wash in Willowbridge.
The Harley Dealerships used to as well but not sure if they still do and how they feel about non-Harleys.
Envious? ;D
Oh this is going to end wellEnvious? ;D

I disagree, it depends on where/what you want to use it for. A 250cc scrambler for example will be great in a congested city, but not so much on open road/highways
and how they feel about non-Harleys.
lol they haters but when they were next to Cubana they did wash the rocket as long as you moved it away fast
I don't know about now with water restrictions but donfords don't wash anymore for almost a year now
I have a guy come to my house once a month to wax but he brings his own stuff
Donford still washes for services and such.
You mean by special request valet?
They always wash my bike voluntarily if I just go for coffee there.
Harley Tygervalley aren’t too full of it but I actually wonder if they don’t maybe have an agreement with Pink Carwash and that they do the work indirectly.
The Stellenbosch folk haven't washed my last two services . Said they have no grey water.
Have decided to respray panniers and paint touch up but heck those prices ...be lucky if it's 12k
I’m saying in that particular class for that particular purpose there are infinitely better/narrower/lighter options to achieve the same goals.
My RS for instance can do all the same things without the hassle from the BMW stable.
From the Honda stable the Africa Twin would make more sense than the Pan Continental.
On the RS (if a police version existed) you're leaning forward more than on the RT, so again I disagree. Upright is going to be way better for increased field of view and actually being able to be on the bike all day every day. An AT might make sense (if a police version existed), but only from a weight point of view, dimensions are pretty much the same. And historically these big bikes have been in use across the world for decades now, so someone must like them for some reason
I think they should've gone with the F800GS. They're not slow, can be lowered easily and they've got the upright seating position.
Seat height on the RT is 55mm lower than the 800 (looking at the lowest setting for both), how far can you drop the 800 suspension right out the box? Remember that governments aren't going to be looking for something they still need to modify afterwards. You do save 45kgs though which is a big plus
edit: and one thing we might be overlooking (since we never comes close to the limits) is the electrical capacity of these bikes. RT has a 25% bigger alternator and 60% larger battery capacity. Doesn't matter to us but once you start loading on lights (and possibly computers) and then expect it to be able to stand at a roadblock or whatever for hours at a time these things also come into play
