Let's play another round of diagnose my bike problems on the internet!
Yesterday when starting up my bike to leave work, I was greeted with a single 'click' and nothing thereafter. Phoned my wife, who came around with the car and I jumped the bike and drove it home. Left it idling at home for about an hour. Switched off the bike, switched it back on and got the same single click and nothing thereafter. Headlight, horn and turn signals all worked though.
Battery is less than a year old. I'm guessing it's the starter relay or solenoid or perhaps a dud battery? Am I barking up the wrong tree or is this a good place to start my investigation?
Willing to bet it’s the battery.
Age of battery is very rarely if ever a good criteria for diagnosis.
It could have been on the shelf for years when you bought it.
If it’s a good brand it should be under warranty still though.
