looking for a shark spartan helmet, anybody know who sells them, online searching was a bust. sad how little online biking retailers we got

Holy shitballs

We are all pussies with zero defensive driving skills.
I'm sitting in a shuttle in rush hour Mumbai traffic. There are 5 lanes of traffic. No painted lines on the road which is wide enough for 3 cars abreast. It's utter chaos. No one hits anyone else.
And to top it there is a constant stream of motorcycles somehow threading its way through the mess. No one's dead yet. I don't know how

One guy just rode past with his wife on the back, one kid sandwiched between them and a kid of no more than 4 sitting on the fuel tank. One helmet between them. **** me.

Spend some time on r/watchpeopledie and you'll change your opinion. India and China is basically final destination manifested as a country.

Where are you based? If in Joburg, give bikers warehouse a call, they stock Shark and have a large amount of stock. Randburg to be more specific.

Speaking of helmets, I am planning to upgrade to one of those adventure helmets. Wondering if anyone has had any issues with the wind when riding with those? Any tips on brands and value for money will be appreciated!

I've always wondered what you do when the wind catches the flap they have when your at speed.

So the only loan bikes available at Bavaria Centurion currently is the 700GS so some of the fun in the system is kinda lost.

Same here...just wondering whether any other people have some good advice. Currently driving around with an Arai RX7 - very noisy but fits like a dream! Getting a bit old though so would like to keep as a spare.

I used one of the Spirit dsv2’s for a while and there are times when the wind does get scooped by the helmet, it’s a pity because the lid fits great.

I see a few guys in traffic in the morning with Go-Pros attached to their helmets. Can any helmet take a Go-Pro or must the helmet come with a specific bracket or attachment point?

Gopros come with curved adhesive mounts, so they just stick on.

In my case, I bought a camera of a forum, but the mounts were on an item that was stolen. So camera came without mounts.

I bought some 3M dual-lock and have it mounted to my camera with that - with a lanyard tied to the camera in case. The dual-lock stuff is ridiculous, I can pick up and shake the whole helmet and it doesn't move. So it's another option if you like.

You carry on riding? It's not like it'll rip your head off, but it certainly will tug at you once in a while. Some helmets minimise this with clever designs

Since we are on the subject, what is the purpose of the peak on an adventure helmet if it just catches the wind, I can't imagine it's to keep the sun out your eyes coz the peaks seeem too high to be of any help.

Yeah keep on riding, unless of course you didn't do up your strap then your helmet may become dearly departed.

It’s that time of year when they prepare for new demo bikes in new model years I believe.

From the km's on the bike my guess is that they standardized on those as the loan bikes. Similar situation happened December last year.

Most helmets work depending on where you want it.

My Shoei GT Air isn’t compatible to stick on the chin area.

I’ve actually grown to deeply dislike the standard GoPro for its stupid scaffold mounting setup not really being helmet friendly.

The Session should probably be the best helmet product but lacks in other features again.

GoPro is horribly underperforming and over-marketed in my view. Sony Action cam from the little bit of time I spent with it does a much better job of “it just works”.

There is a company whose name I fail to remember now but BMW has on all their demo bikes that wire a front and rear camera into the bike and a logger.

It sends out a crash alert as well if something goes horribly wrong.

Depends what you wanted from the camera.

Could be Ice-Cam from the makers of the ICEtag as well.
https://ice-tags.co.za/product/ice-cams-pro/

Someone here at the office has a similar camera setup, not the ice-cam though, and he says that the quality isn't what he expected, also the angles isn't always ideal. So he just went and bought a helmet mounted camera as well, but the other cameras are wired in and always recording so that helps.
