bikes are pretty easier to service yourself (brakes, oil changes, clutch adjustments) I usually send mine to HD for bigger issues (I don't have all the tools, space and HD is about 300M from the office)
 
So today my bike turned into a jetski, anyone else have an enjoyable ride in the rain today?

Not today. Been years since I rode in the rain. Got used to the co car too much in recent years.

That reminds me, need to buy a new rain suit. Any suggestions? The last one I bought about 7 years ago from a Jonway dealer and was a bargain for a couple of hundred Rands, it was the pants, jacket with glove inserts, and booties.

Know a few guys that believe in the Oxford suits, never tried them so can’t give my two cents.
I use an average two piece suit it helps a small bit, but then I don’t mind getting soaked, it’s a welcome relief from the heat.

The Oxford ones are pricey but last and generally do a better job with nicer zips and Velcros etc.

You can buy the cheap ones from Builders or a bike shop but they don’t seal as well and you’ll likely replace them every other year.

Yup me this morning, left Somerset West with not a drop of water in sight, by the time i got to Cape Town i was sopping wet, poured half a glass of grey water out of each shoe (shoes are less than a week old so im thinking this is dirty rain water from the road that i gathered, who knows).
Anyways, went to bathroom and took my jeans off and wringed out another cup of water out of them.
At least I always keep dry socks at work so im sitting here wet pants and all but my feet are warm and dry
Still don't mind, wont catch me dead in a car sitting in traffic :thumbsup:

That's why I always know Windguru 7am-9am and 3pm-5pm predictions for the next week. And pull over some Johnson work wear pants at least when it looks wet.

Yeah stupid me, i read the weather report and thought neh they talking crap, only myself to blame
 
Funny I spotted the weather when taking the kids to school but opted to only put my weatherproof boots on and not bother with the rest.

Think I got more wet from the walk home from school than the actual ride to work.

Must just be lucky timing.
 
I missed the rain by mere minutes. Got wet from walking to the office.

I have my summer gloves(Leather), my leather jacket, and my back brace on. Should I get wet my gloves and Jacket wet, it may take a few days to dry.

Crikey no. Whilst I love the good intentions of the run, A few mates & I ride alone to the venue, drop off the toys, have a few beers, then bugger off.

Group rides of that size are full of wankers who have no clue how to ride in formation, as well as loads of brekkie runners & yuppies who cannot ride safely on their own let alone in formation.

Am sad I missed the Toy Run this year. Fantastic initiative! Prior years' Toy Runs were well organised and plenty fun. Will do a charity run for local animal shelters next me thinks...
 
I missed it as well, work interfered as it has an annoying habit to do whenever I want to do something over the weekend.

Supported. Went on one toy run and seeing some of the toss riding skills on display was enough to put me off doing mass rides for a life time
