Hi.

I'm busy helping a friend to connect his white Cell C-branded 3G USB stick to a netbook running Windows XP.

The stick is labelled Huawei E1752 HSPA USB Stick at the back of the device. What software do I need to download in order to get him connected to the Cell C network? What is the Cell C equivalent of Vodafone Mobile connect?

I've checked the Driver Downloads Page on the Cell C website, but it is confusing me. Not sure what to download, and don't want to waste time and bandwidth testing out the different installations.

Please help.

Doesn't the netbook have a built-in modem? Did you check?

No built-in modem. Just Bluetooth and WiFi. It's an Acer Aspire one. And even if it did have a built-in modem, it most likely wouldn't have supported HSPA 900mhz used by Cell C.

Weird - the speedstick must have a virtualized CD with the software on it.

You can try to use Voda's software - just make sure it uses *99# for the number to dial though.

I've connected with 8.ta software on CellC's network (with CellC sim) and with CellC's software to Telkom (telkom sim) and voda network (voda sim) successfully this way.

The software only is there for the client to monitor bandwidth usage etc.
