Neotel just need time I guess... we as South Africans are expecting so much from them, time will help... just be patient guys, just try... it's hard, I know, but we can't expect miracles right out... in time, things will happen.

Do you know something that we don't know? Here's hoping...

For me personally, the "holy grail" of Internet access is no cap, no port-shaping and high download AND upload speeds. Download must be at least 4Mbps and upload of at least 1 Mbps.
 
If it stays uncapped (which it wont) it will be a very good offering ... show me an uncapped service for total cost of R500 . But overall a tad disappointing , local ping times is a big shock , here's hoping they can get that sorted

The question is how many non-geeks need uncapped at R500pm and how many need 10GB per month ar R100pm?

Us Geeks are a very small minority of the total community.

I'm afraid, but if the "test programme" rates are anything to look at, the wait for Neotel was a waste of time.

It would seem you do have to buy additional bandwidth, but facts are not what you would call concrete just yet.

I'm still holding out for the new guys...it's obvious that Neotel reads mybroadband and will be reading this thread...
I think they will tweak the offering slightly before launch. just how much they tweak it depends on the influence they think mybroadband readers hold.
 
I suppose one positive at least is that rpm was given the opportunity to test their product. Can anyone imagine Telkom doing that?
 
I can just imagine the Telkom shareholders and executives smiling from ear to ear after reading about this weak offer. They must be licking their lips

didn't they say that cdma was like 60ms?
the only way i will still be interested is if it has a cap of 20GB or more (is that asking too much, for R500?)

I got 64k wireless and local pings are just as stated, probably casue it's wireless... between 100 - 300 local but them.. I get 300 ping in GW :confused:
 
The trial price for the service is R 499.00 per month for unlimited usage, but this will change when the service is launched commercially to a wider audience in May. Despite a different pricing model Neotel reiterated that consumers can expect good value for money.

I don't think many lay people know what ping is...And I am sure that the main target market of Neotel and Telkom for that matter are not people who do know that it means ;)
