Neotel network speed degradation update

I have to say that the Neotel network is getting pathetic now. My internet currently works in 5 min snippets. Works for a few minutes then totally stops responding, then comes back after 10 mins. Rinse and repeat. So dead I can't even ping anything half the time. How can they be so totally inept at maintaining their network?! My internet experience went from awesome a month back, to absolutely **** this month. Is Neotel going the way of Sentech?

There's plenty of threads covering all your questions. Take 10 minutes out of your day to educate yourself.

Edit: I don't recall any threads on AUPs, but there isn't a download limit on the unlimited packages.

At 7am this morning in the Paulshof area, my speedtest result was as follows:

Download: >900kbps
Upload: approx 70 kbps
Ping: approx 470ms.

Maximum download speed without connection disconnect is approx 40kB/s.

Midrand Area this morning at 8:30AM

Down 546kbps
Up 47kbps
Ping 547ms

Better but that could just be cos everyone is being disconnected all day.

Midrand Area 5pm
Down 501kbps
Up 51
Ping 652
Better but still not there.
Will test again at peak time, 8pm or so.

Paulshof
Ping to google: 3606ms
RSSI: 88
Download Speed: 29 kbps (3.6 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 19 kbps (2.4 KB/sec transfer rate)

Sunninghill, Prime : speedtest.net results
Ping: 616ms
RSSI: 97
PN: 160
Download Speed: 106 kbps (13.25KB/s)
Upload Speed: 47 kbps (5.8KB/s)

no changes here I'm afraid!!

Some sort of bragging right :

First through speedtest.net - http://www.speedtest.net/result/435351162.png

Second through speedtest.neotel.co.za - Download Speed: 1744 kbps (218 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 72 kbps (9 KB/sec transfer rate)

BUT...unstable 'cos of line drops :(. Seems like I can't browse while I dload using IDM - well this is my first observation.

Not in any of those areas, and I don't want to jinx it, but as of tonight my connection has improved greatly. No dropped connections so far. Hopefully it stays and improves to where it was last month.

Parktown, Johannesburg
Down: 502kbps
Up: 330kbps
Ping: 515ms

Damn that's bloody high! Whats your RSSI?

Line is not disconnecting anymore, but I'm getting a whopping 12-20KB/s

Neotel rep - as far as improvement goes... NEE boet!

Just did a speedtest and no disconnects so far.

Using a download manager peaking at 140KB/s and still stable :D
Latency still stable.

Revolving, can you give me the directions to get this on the device please. The CC did give it to me and I can't remember :o
