I want Neotel!![]()
How on earth will I know if I am phoning a Telkom client or a Neotel client, anyways?

Same as on the cell networks I believe.
But there is Number Portability, so wouldn't know which network it is?
If you phone a cell that has ported to another network, you get 3 high pitched beeps before it rings. same thing will apply I believe. ie. You're calling off network now.

Say what?
Sorry - but can you explain that to me? I have never heard those beeps before?
If you know someone who has ported from one cell network to another; call that person. Before you hear the cell ring, there will be 3 shorts beeps, then the normal ring, ring.
I can't explain it anymore than that....![]()
That would be ideal!Who "injects" those beeps? Is it standard - in other words, can one claim compensation if those beeps are not present?
If they are "injected" as a rule, why not just a "voice over" saying "CellC" "Vodacom" "Telkom" or whatever?
EDIT: What happens if you TOO have ported to the same network the recipient has ported too?
