Neotel

wtf did neotel have to come up with the 24month contract? They're losing customers because of it. Like me. I'd like to go over but not when I get forced to tie myself to them

The problem in this stage is to get highsites to put our CDMA sites, this takes forever to get approval from the landlords.

There is some nice things comming and i think pay as you go is one of them.
Regarding kuilsriver coverage...i think your closest site will be kasselsvlei that is already live.

The exact freq of the eqiupment ....will get back to you but its around the 800mhz range
The phone will be useing a TNC male connector on the antenna side.

Coverage is PE have to wait for at least 6 months for now...i think

many thanx ... will start getting my gear together ...

power outages and emergency numbers

do the current devices have a battery backup so emergency calls can be made during power outages?

I take it the normal emergency numbers (10111 etc) work as normal?

When will Neotel begin Wimax trials?

When they've installed their WiMax equipment and tested it. At the moment, they still busy trying to launch their first range of products and cover the major metropolitan areas. If I recall correctly, I remember a date of towards the end of the year, beginning of next year being thrown around for the beginning of the WiMax roll out

Will they successful launch WiMax with a mobile handset like CDMA.....

I see that in a month or 2 neotel will have ethernet modems.

Will the people who have usb modems be able to do a swap out for the ethernet ones since it wasn't their fault that the ethernet modems weren't available?

Probably not...whats neotel gonna do with the old modems?

They just started...would be short on the money side...unless they wanna be customer centric

That's their problem not the consumers, they shouldn't have launched with tech like that.
