Never thought I'd find myself saying this...

I was merely pointing out an alternative if you felt so strongly about driving something few others drive. I also don't like driving the same car as everyone else (for practical and philosophical reasons) and I also think the C70 is a very good looking and reliable car. The only real issue, as you've stated before, is that you don't really enjoy the drive. Cars, like bikes, should choose the driver. That way, you'll always be happy with it. If you drive it and everything just feels right, buy it. Otherwise, leave it alone or you'll regret it in a year or two.

I really like the 350Z coupe but the roadster does nothing for me. Same with the BMW Z4. I like the coupe but the cabriolet just looks wrong in the back.

One other thing to mention (and this is straight off Top Gear so take it or leave it) but its best to get a car that was designed to be a cabrio as opposed to a hard top that has been sliced off.

...this does have the effect of narrowing the options down considerably.

For my budget it seems I'm fine as long as I go for second hand - 2007+ which I am perfectly OK with. I'm not a fan of the classics in the least little bit btw - I've never understood the attraction to antiquated technology, ancient designs, piss poor fuel economy and less luxury than an entry level Fiat of our era...

So if you always wanted a convertible, which one did you want?

Sorry what ?

What about a 350 or 500 Fastback Mustang ?

Sorry but I can't for the life of me care about fuel usage, antique technology or ancient designs :D Those are the most beautifull cars ever created.... FULL STOP !

From Volvo to Ford lol, poor thread...

Nea,

The Lamborghini Countach was by far the sexiest Lambo ever built :o

But that's just me, I love classics :)

Errrr everyone knows the sexiest Lambo ever made was the Muira...

Irrelevant - I'm not a sentimental kinda guy. I want one that I like now, for the same reasons why I am not a fan of classic cars...

It's not that I didn't enjoy the drive - it's just that it's not as quick as I thought it was - it's still quick though, don't get me wrong. But I couldn't dice in Brakpan on a Friday night, which would like completely ruin my weekends...:D

Volvo C70
Honda S2000

Er, then I get stuck...

Ok, whistling by your dome then ;)

It's somewhere in between locks and dome...

Don't you dare..... There is no classic VW appart from the Beetle.

sssshhhhhhhsssss :p

NEVER !

Countach FTW !
I have to admit their interior is crap ugly but hey, it's a very old car and that shape was way before it's time. Even the sports cars of today would never match the shear brilliance in design that was the Countach :p

cos there gay;)

The fun factor is also a huge motivator... it feels really cool driving about with the wind whipping through your locks :)

Pity I don't have the locks - maybe that's why tun@ thinks it's gay? Reminds him of the old Timotei adverts?

...rustling through the underbrush?

Maybe he uses gel or hairwax or he GHDs it....

Proof, convertibles are so gay!
