New FNB Smartphone App

Cellphone banking uses USSD (*120*321#) and this uses Normal Data so you'll most likely be charged, blackberry uses on the other hand will be able to access it for free..

I did not mean the data charges, what im wondering about is the transaction charges. I'm not on the unlimited plan so I pay per transaction but when I use cellphone banking all transactions are free but if you use internet banking they charge you lets say R10 per transfer.

Who still uses the USSD service, I have never used that. Think only people with super old phones will use that. I used the mobi site, much better

I dont think bb users have it for free... If i dont have air time i cant access *120*321# even with bis enabled... So i can browse intetnet with no airtime but i cant use *120*321#

That's because *120*321# is a paid for ussd service, not an internet data service. If you want it free use *130*321#, but it's limited.

Instead of paying to use the USSD service, why not just go to fnb.mobi. Nice, easy and simple site to use. quick as well and for BB or user on data packages, its free. For anyone that isn't on a data package, it doesn't cost as much as the USSD service.

I don't think cellphone banking is free anymore. From 1st July FNB changed their pricing and now it looks like they are charging for cellphone banking transactions

Yes in most plans cellphone banking has the same charges as Internet banking now and that went up quite a bit too. Since you login with your Internet banking password I guess it's the same charges as that.

On my Blackberry every time I start the app, it errors saying it can't access the internet and I must check my settings or phone them, which is nonsense as my internet settings work perfectly.

I tried installing the FNB app on my Samsung Galaxy tab P7500 and it says the device is not supported. I assumend it would would on any android version. Has anyone have it working on a P7100 or P7500?

I also found it quite slow, but assumed it was my phone signal.. I only had it open for a few minutes so haven't experienced any issues with it unlocking as yet..

Any idea why the app doesn't show my correct fnb connect number but rather just my normal cellphone number?
