FNB today released their new Smartphone app, I am running it on Android and man is it amazing. It integrates almost every aspect of your experience into one, for example, I have a FNB Connect number - this one app picks it up and allows me to make SIP calls from within the app.

There is your expected day to day banking stuff such as balances, payments, transfers, ect...
A branch / ATM locator...

personally, a winning app for me.

FNB has had an app out for a long time now actually

From what I see, FNB had the FNB Connect App, which was a SIP client for them... Their new app has full banking functionality.

Their mobi site works really well too

Instead of launching a new app, they should have just updated the existing one.

Why have two apps out there - which more or less do the same thing - just a suggestion.

Looks pretty good - pity the ATM locator doesn't use location based services - that would be awesome :)

Can't buy airtime or electricity with it so still need to use their mobile site. Not useful to me.

I think it rocks, I hate the "cellphone banking" approach. And this gives you a lot of the nice online capabilities.

The only thing I do not like is that they bundled it with the call software. Bloats it too much.

The ATM locator does use location services. I pressed the button and it knows where the nearest one is. (on android)

Sounds cool. I hope it's using a secure connection for the banking stuff :p

Tried the app and it's pretty sweet :)

One tip for them is where you use the ATM/Branch locator and you view on the map there should be an option to open it in the full google maps so you can get directions/navigate etc.

FNB launch an app for a Blackberry, yet 90% of the BB's in operation can't use the app!

Brilliant!!

Haven't had chance to look yet, but is this app available on Symbian too?

Check the Ovi Store, it might be available for Symbian as their ad mentions the Ovi store

It does use location based services, see encryped's reply above

Sounds very cool, i assume its only available off the official app worlds for each OS?

Correct
