New Jaguar XE

And your point is?

I'd rather drive a Jag over any of the Germans, thank you.

Its insanely over priced and its not special compared to rivals. If it was better than Germans on every respect besides driving dynamics and spec level, the price would appeal to me.

I'm often intrigued by the pricing points on certain cars. Obviously cars are priced according to what people will pay and perhaps not their actual worth but surely Jag want to shift as many cars as possible? I can understand Ferrari trying to keep a lid on sales for exclusivity but don't the rest simply want as many buyers as possible?
Or are Jag trying to keep out the riff-raff? They obviously have smart people in charge so would be interested to hear their rationale.

R1 million for that XE S...goodness me. BMW M3 and C63 AMG price level.

Its between R150k and R200k cheaper than the M3 or C63 AMG...

Yes, its not quite as powerful but tbh, that 3.0 Supercharged motor is a beaut...

And that's my issue. It makes those cars look like a bargain. It is also much more expensive than similar performance from 3-Series (340i) and C-Class (C450). Now, enter the new Audi A4/S4 and competition starts becoming interesting and cheaper.

The problem with the Germans is that they will become common. The Jag will not...

Indeed and in fact, Germans are already common. I don't see that being a problem as long as they are cheaper, tick all the right boxes and very good. I mean look at the C-Class interior compared to more expensive Jag with questionable plastics?

Seen about 5 on the road, in different areas of Cape Town. Obviously selling.

Quite enjoyed this comparison, even with that accent...

Fek me...

No new cars for me ever.....

*waits for 2 years when these things will depreciate like a stone*

On a forum, I'll say the Jag.
Spending my own cash, the BMW would walk it.
