Please see the mweb link, the 1,3,6,10GB packages all have the softcap -

if you are registered on the Giga, Pro, Xtreme or Addict products and you reach your data limit, you can continue to surf but at a speed of up to 64Kbps (throttled once cap is reached). Alternatively, you can purchase a Booster that temporarily increases your data allocation for that month.

sorry if this has been asked before but my parents are on 1 gig pro 24 month contract, how do you go about changing to the new price 1 gig package? Is it as simple as phoning Iburst and telling them you wanna change, obviously this not including waiting on the phone and then talking to the useless helpdesk :)

hmmm... 'helpdesk".....
Is there now reaally gonna be a price change or not, so many of the iBurst resellers have already got the new prices on their websites, yet the bright folk at MWEB themselves still don't have a clue :-(
One of our colleagues here enquired about pricing this morning, so I gave them the 'new' prices, ... they phone up Mweb, got completely different prices...
Only advice I have is to phone them again tomorrow.... maybe somebody else will answer the phone.... or maybe tomorrow, being April, rumoured month for the changes to come into effect, the sales / helpdesk staff will also be informed of whats going on?

whats the bet the "new prices" for april are Ibursts thing for a April Fools joke :p , it wouldn't surprise me :)

this is going to be sooo much fun ;) it wouldnt surprise me if you land up with 2 accs ... ure old one and a new one ... cant wait

Hmmmmm don't I feel raped....

it's the 1st of the month and i've been upgraded from 3.42 gb to 3.5gb...

please excuse me while I go find a container for my excitement!!!

For everyone who missed it the first time I said it: You will not be automatically upgraded to the new packages - you have to complete a 'Subscriber Migration Form' and fax it to iBurst to move to a new package. Normal migration rules apply.

There is absolutely no way in HELL I am paying in an EXTRA R2500 just to switch to a package with an extra 1.5GB a month.

iBurst, this is the final nail in your coffin... when my contract expires I'm going elsewhere... If this is how you treat people who have been with you since you started, get stuffed...

Die in a magnesium fire!!!!

Are you on a contract? I'm on a month 2 month. I've considered bypassing the red tape by canceling, waiting a month, and signing up for a new package. Wouldn't that be simpler?

I called MWEB about migrating 3.5 GB Classic Pro to the new 5 GB Pro.
They can't do it yet because they don't have the necessary forms to fax to me yet.

Dof eh?

Where can i get the form to migrate to a lower package?

these people really annoy me, im not allowed to drop to a cheaper package. im on month to month, i should be able to change from month to month.

And what other company doesnt automatically update everyones account? when telkoms prices come down, all there customers get billed less automatically. People who joined telkom 2 years ago arnt still paying the same price as they did when they joined.

They have changed there packages, so how can they keep billing people using the old package system?
