A bit OT. My Gigabyte 870E Aorus Pro, with Ryzen 7000, dislikes DDR5-6400. Which is interesting since some initial 870E board reviews showed that to be an issue, albeit at much higher clocks. I run DDR5-6000 on the board with no issue. I don't know anyone else who have this board with an Ryzen 7000 CPU running DDR5-6400 or above.
For those considering to get the board. Gigabyte has recently released v1.1. Gigabyte haven't given clarity as to what has changed, but someone on Reddit gathered that Gigabyte changed the PCIe 5 repeater/redriver. This is an interesting change. I have previously dived into redrivers in this thread when I touched on CUDIMM and CSODIMM. Could Gigabyte have noise issues with the original board? I don’t know.
Gigabyte has many a time changed their components on boards, but it is mostly due to what is being available to them and they have also made changes to layouts and cooling. Either this change is an upgrade, downgrade or a substitute.
I see someone received another response:
I don't know, my board doesn't seem to have any voltage issues, but don't like anything above DDR5-6000. Power delivery is a vast concept though. Say the above is true, then improve is a upgrade.
My system is otherwise stable.
