Thanks for answering my questions. I will go give one in store a demo and make my mind up from there but I'm already set on getting this tablet. I find it more appealing to have a tablet running Windows 8 than Android. I need the tablet more for web browsing, multimedia viewing and coding. The one at Incredible says IPS screen with built in Wi-Fi And 3G so that's a differentiating factor over the Nextbook for me.
 
Also note that you get one year of Office 365 Personal with the Nextbook (not sure if it's also the case with the Proline). I'm opting to rather use Office 365 on my desktop PC and get a "normal" Office 2010 or 2013 for the tablet, so I can install it on the SD card (365 can only get installed on the Windows partition).

The annual 365 subscription might be a good deal if you regularly use Office, since a "normal" license costs about double the yearly subscription anyway. (That's assuming you're going the legal route)
 
Xeslaro can you give a update on the Proline 8.9" tab?

Thinking about getting one but not sure since there seems to be no reviews out?

I'm returning the device. There's an uneven blend of colour on the left side of the screen, in bright colours it appears 'wavey', for example blue would be dark and light blue, and this occurs at exactly the same place on the screen and must be a defect, not sure what it is - it irks me to no end. Other than that, it works flawlessly... The screen snaps easily into the keyboard via magnetic mounts.
 
So I bought the wife one from Makro, and to be honest, so far it's blowing my little Lenovo out of the water. It feels very solid, very responsive, and the Windows UI makes it very familiar.

I can see space is going to be a challenge though, with only 16GB standard. It says I can expand it to 64GB. Does this mean I can insert a 64GB SD card, or is the total supported capacity (including the on-board 16GB) 64GB, i.e. I can expand it only with an additional 48GB?

Can anyone recommend an SD card that works nicely with these?

R2499???? Wasn't it R1499 a week or two ago? Jislaaik, wanted to buy one a few weeks ago, but couldn't decide. Should've, could've....aahhhhh

I have the A3500 (the Lenovo I mentioned earlier), and compared to this, the Ideapad feels very ... plastic-ish...
But yeah, I see the Makro special is no more, and the price up with 1000 smackeroos.
 
My wife also have the Lenovo A3000. Just a word of caution, she installed something from the app store, Games for my daughter for the road trip and so earlier this month. There were a lot of ghost touches (Erratic Screen Behavior) and I had to go into clean master and uninstall everything from December to fix it.

To clarify, a typical notebook PC will do into sleep mode in order to conserve battery life if you stop using it. This allows you to come back 8-12 hours later and still use the laptop. In the case of the E FUN Nextbook, if you leave this tablet turned on and walk away for 8 hours, it’ll be dead when you come back.

My battery life is pretty good on the 8 inch. As for leaving it 8 hours in sleep mode, does that comfortably. Its never really off except for those rare times when I remember to switch it off before going to sleep.

Well... the 10" now will not charge... sitting on 4% and plugged in, not charging... all day.

Will have to take it into Makro tomorrow... methinks will ask for a refund if permitted and put it towards something better.
Do not like this strange proprietary charger and battery problems 2 months down the line.

The Consumer Protection Act says that you can choose whether you want it repaired, replaced or refunded.

I also tried my phone charger and it does not work (my normal charger still works, thankfully). Anyone know whether an extra charger can be bought separately? Or even better, a USB-charger adapter?

My friend bought a 10" unit. The carger would not work out of the box - took it back for a new one. Seems like this is a common fault.

These chargers are cheap and nasty... Makro replaced the charger and its working again.

Still in two minds as to keep this unit or return it.

I just have my reservations about its durability.

Anybody know of any aftermarket charger which can be purchased? Or maybe even something with the same output and whereby you can swap the connector?
 
Took the plunge today after reading all the posts here and playing with the demo units at Makro.
I must say, I love the 8" once! it's really perfect. Doesn't have a dock keyboard, but I bought a cover with bluetooth keyboard for when I do some serious typing and to keep the tablet save.
The resolution is perfect and nice and small.

I would have gone for the Proline 8.9" one that's R3000 and better options, but budget wise at the moment, the 8" does the job perfectly and I see no need for anything else at the moment.
Might get the Proline one in future and get Linux (Kali) loaded on this tablet. I see it runs at 32bit OS but it does have a 64bit processor, nice.

To me the 10" one at Makro is too expensive for being 16GB and not the 32GB what it should be.

With regards to the 16GB storage.
9.57GB is partitioned for the main Windows system and 4,88GB for the recovery partition.
