New Windows-powered tablet-notebook hybrids now in SA

Where did you get the cover from? It looks good. How much?
 
@Ecco, I also bought it from Makro. It was R300 and something. Can't remember the exact price.
 
Any of you guys know where to get insurance for accidental damage for tablets?
I want to make sure this tablet is covered. Don't want to be stuck with a R1600 brick if something happens to it

I highly doubt that as it's soldered chip and not an SSD. But you're welcome to buy one, void the warranty and break it open to check at your own risk, don't say we didn't warn you (or told you so)..
 
Not yet, but I'm making progress, got a lot of photos I took. I already stuffed up my Win8.1 install and managed to get all working again after a good learning curve. But Linux boots from USB (not all USB drives as I've found) and a Debian distro with EFI support is the way to go. I already run Kali on my netbook, but its only bulky and the battery is shot, so getting it running from the nextbook (usb method) will be awesome. I managed to run 'lspci' and found out that the tablet hardware is Intel ValleyView Gen7. I've did a quick google yesterday and saw a lot of posts about people running linux trying to get it to work. So I'll go though them.

I might end up partitioning the nextbook internal storage to dual boot, as I want to be able to use the OTG usb with a wifi dongle and Kali at some stage.

I'll posts the photos and details on my other blog at some stage and provide the link here when I'm done.

Please do, I'd prefer running Xubuntu or some other Debian-based OS on it.
 
rodga, kyton, I stumbled across it when I googled for SSD drives, I also posted the site earlier in this thread, will look for it.
