Very very unreliable.
I struggled to get 10Gb in March. Server was down a lot.
Hopefully with everybody away for all the April holidays I will do better.

I also want to know the answer to this. cos I have the same problem.

I suspect they are using the 32 connections hack to download this much.

I can grab plenty from Giganews... but that is international. The local news server are kuk though.

Well at least I'm not the only one having problems. Its pretty useless then getting a local only account if there's nothing I can do with it. I might as well have a 300GB local only - its useless!

Huh? But at least then you can use your local for something... even if it is not much. I can give you guys invites if you want. It is not as fast a full speed news server, but you can grab some stuff. all you have to do in return is seed the same file for 24 hours.

whatever you want to call it, I don't think it is fair to hog that many connections and lock out other users. I know how it is done, somebody posted the info on here last year. I just won't do it myself. I don't think it is fair.

No. It is not fair on all the other users. If everybody just used what they were allotted there would be no problems with the news servers.

There's always someone who must abuse it and then the rest of us must suffer and try to make alternative plans just to download

Would extra connections make a difference, though? Sometimes when I only get one connection instead of two on SAIX, I still pull the same amount of stuff.This is on a 384 line.

speed increase or no speed increase... it uses up connection slots (a helluva lot of them).

You could start by reading this thread and the other ones around it. If you did that you would know that there are no invites available for newshost. They have been disabled. The invite system is closed. Sorry. you are out of luck. They are not accepting any new members.
