Don't know about this specific bundle, but Cameraland in Sandton has the D3000 + 18-55mm VR + Free Training for R5999.

Ok, not to bad. But for another R200 I wouldn't mind getting the bag and memory stick. Wonder if anyone would match this deal.

Guys - is it worth upgrading from a good feature packed pns to a dSLR such as the d3000?

If you're travelling soon, you can, like I did, get the D3000+18-55VR+Training Voucher+4GB mem card for R5699 at CAPI international. (5499 excl the mem card)

Apparently, you can phone ahead and make sure you book the item.

 That is a brilliant price!

Dam not traveling though :( Do you have to be flying out to get into their stores?

I'm afraid so, since it's duty free and you have to present your boarding pass.
I'm usually rather sceptical about the pricing at "duty free" shops, but this really was a good price. Forgot to mention it includes a two-year warranty.

BTW other special were:
D90+18-105VR for R12999
D5000+18-55 for R8999
AF-S 55-200VR for R2600

I really wanted the D90, but after buying a 42' LCD last month on impulse, I had to "settle" for the D3000, but I'm happy so far.

The "training" voucher is for a 1 day course on the camera, not photography in general, although apparently they do cover the basics.

Thanks for the info Mier - ok so not to worried about the training, 1 day is ok, just to learn the basics.

*ponders where to fly to* :D :p

Hi-Fi Corporation have a special on the D3000 + 18-55VR bundle for R5499. Valid 1-4 October.

Got the D3000 yesterday, very very happy with it so far :)

See Game has it for R4999. Not sure what comes with it though...hmmm...think I need to check. Anyone know if this one at Game has all the extra goodies mentioned in this thread?

Just phone Makro as I saw they had limited stock for:

Nikon D3000 18-55 VR + 55-200mm VR Kit for R8000 iirc (might have been R9000)

Just remember it was a very nice deal.
