Did a bios update and now my sound and microphone doesn't work. Can't install an earlier BIOS because it won't allow me. Reinstalled the audio drivers and even tried previous versions. What else can I try before I have to wipe and reinstall windows 10. Apparently that is the only way I can find on the internet. Also I don't have any restore points. FML

Why not reset the BIOS. Your MoBo manual will tell you which jumpers to short with the battery removed. I think that will take you back to factory default.

Not bad for a miner. It worked! everything back to normal.

Glad you got sorted. My son's gaming rig had this issue where, if the power was removed, most of the time you battled to get the rig powered up again. Everything dead, not a light on. Replaced PSU, which only gave us a button to check the fan running. Still no luck.

So, when we upgraded his R9 290x to a 1080, we ran into the same issue. After two hours of the thing not switching on, I decided to reset the BIOS. Boom, thing powered up and now every time, first time.
