1. A case > my Samsung D600 got scratched to pieces in my pocket
2. A car cradle > useful for GPS and handfree calling
3. A car charger > after reading that the battery on this baby is a bit lacking in power, probably a worthwhile purchase.

I am looking at getting the same. Unfortunately the cradle & windscreen mount are sold seperately. Haven't looked at prices yet.

I have a hip pouch for my 6680 & that should do for the time being.

How will you be transferring your info from the samsung to the nokia phone?

Using Samsung PC studio, exported contacts as a Outlook Express WAB file, then using Nokia PC Suite did a 'sync' with a user specified WAB file (as opposed to the real WAB file I used for Outlook Express). Seemed to work like a charm.

One little niggle i noticed that if you have the same tel number stored under more than one contact, the phone decides not to show any name when calling, and therefore no specific ringtones, etc. The D600 used one of them, not sure how it 'chose' but in my case was always the right one. Maybe just luck in my case.

Accessories

New mission it to try and find accessories for the phone. Noone at the waterfront had a pouch.

Cellucity had a charger for R250 (exactmall is R119 I think)
They also had a universal mounter with windscreen bracket at....wait for it... R399 (exactmall is R219).

There is a Nokia car mount for this phone, model CR-48 with intergrated power socket where you can attach the car charger to (which you have to buy separately). It comes with a bracket that you can screw onto the dash. Otherwise you have to buy the windscreen bracket.

Will continue the search.....Anyone with info please let me know. Don't want to spend R1000 on accessories after the phone was free.
 
does your 6110 get fingerprints easily??how is the mp3 sound quality?(using headset)
what are the price for using AGPS? is there any pouche(capdase ones) for this phone yet?does the lense cover at the back get scratched easily?

Fingerprints: Yes, quite annoying, but once I have a pouch (not yet available) it will be the end of that

AGPS: Normal data usage price, I have heard it only using GPRS, etc to find the sattelites and then not at all. I have switched mine off. Will test on the way home

Scratches: Not yet, made sure no keys in my pocket with the phone until I get a pouch.
 
i guess it will be better for me to buy the handset when the pouch are available, but what is the story with the quality issue on 6110? coz im gona buy 6110 from exactmall are their stock gona have the quality issue as well?oh ya and how is the mp3 sound quality compared to the nokia n76? how do u find the n76 by the way? do u find the design attractive?
 
Prints and scratches:
Since I am prone to that, and no pouches are available, I went into a camera store, and got a packet of universal Screen Protectors. Its R90 for the packet, but there are 4 sheets, that can be cut into 4 to cover the screen. Works like a treat. I have it now on my camera screen, as well as my wife's phone.

When it is put on properly you cannot even see its there. I have put a few scratches on the screen protector already, so I guess it was worth the buy. Also, it is less prone to fingerprints than the screen, and because they work out to R3,37 a sheet, I dont mind using my shirt to wipe the screen.

Congrats... let us know your thoughts on GPS, etc once you have spent some time with it. On the battery front, was fully charged yesterday morning, +- 1 hour on GPS, 5 mins on phone calls and 10 mins on internet and getting low battery warning. better get that car charger ASAP.

I've also noticed the browser doesn't like WAP sites very much, or rather its a full browse so if the site is configured to check the browser it loads the full site (e.g. News24) using a lot more bandwidth. Data counter is quite cool, but watching it skyrocket is not! Will have to get Opera Mini I think.

Also finding lots of apps don't support the phone yet, e.g. Fring, Skype. Looking for a good DivX player if anyone has any suggestions.
 
Will try using the GPS without A-GPS too see if there is any difference. The web browser is cool, but it does load the complete page. Managed to download Opera Mini this morning, however I prefer Opera Mobile, but there is no version for this model.

Phone was fully charged this morning, but after playing with the GPS, Browsing, Radio etc. I have only 3 bars left. Car charger will be a must.
 
Is the charge indicator supposed to move when charging is in progress? :confused:

Mine isn't.

Ok. Power point in the office must be busted or something. Got it to work at another point.

The first 3 days my phone ran out of juice quite quickly, and after a week you can go a lot more. I am now on 2 days, which included 3 hours of gps nav with backlight on

Edit: With 3 bars showing
 
hey dude i have got tons of application for series60 V.3 and all cracked..i have the latest version of divx player as well if u want i can email them to u..
 
Is it possible to adjust the Volume on the clock alarm or is it, like the Samsung D600, stupidly linked to the ring tone volume? I used to keep my ring tone on the lowest volume so that I didn't get blasted every morning.

Also with active background, is it possible to show the shortcuts but not the calendar? can't figure that one out either.
