Too little too late, for me at least. Glad I ditched Nokia after a close to 10 year loyalty. Nokia just aren't innovative enough. Android phone's are all the rage right now! You can never get bored of an Android phone.

Agreed. If it was android based with that hardware it would sell twice as many units. The people who are going to be buying something like that are tech savvy and tech savvy people mostly dont want symbian.

Really? Funny I read it and saw it saying what many have been saying for ages, and that is that most of these incredible, cutting edge features that the iPhone supposedly has have been standard on other phones for ages.
The smooth flick-scrolling thing, Apple practically invented that. Nobody else had that speed and responsiveness. Nobody was displaying full web pages on a large screen, with multitouch for zooming. The way an iPhone does copy and paste is still better than anything else on the market. They invented the idea of an App Store which everyone copied.

I could go on but I don't want to argue with you guys, I'm sure you're happy with your Nokias. And the N8 does look like a good phone, especially for the price. Nokia make great quality stuff but I really want to see their Meego project take off more.

You clearly didn't actually read that article that you rubbished....

And you actually couldn't go on as that is about it.

It does not change the fact that my initial response was to a post which stated that "Nokia seriously has to do something spectacular if they want to stay in the game". They are well in the game....

Year on year market share loss says not so well.

OK Apple didn't invent it, they just made it good. Nokia launched it's App store in 2003 apparently. Well it's nothing on the App store. I'll be surprised if it takes in 1% of what the App store makes. All he can say is "everyone forgets Nokia has the 3rd biggest App Store". Yeah it's 3rd biggest, but Apple's is way ahead of number 2.

That and the way it bypassed the carriers/operators (something he also rails against), which meant it actually worked! No longer do you have to seek permission from your carrier to upload your app (as a developer). Apple has way more apps, way more sales, all from a tiny marketshare compared to Nokia. They should be ashamed of themselves.

I'm sorry but developers got excited because the iPhone ran OS X which meant access to cool and advanced technologies like Core Animation, Core Data etc which were previously only on desktops.

The Apple App Store was not so much invented as iPhone users was sentenced to life long imprisonment in it. The rest of the world still prefer a global network of linked computers - or internet - for getting their apps.
