If the report blamed the lack of qualified teachers, I'd full heartedly agree but you cannot blame Verwoed or Apartheid, with the amount of time that has passed. More attention, then and now, should be paid to education, ensuring that we have a educated populace, that can make informed decisions about their lives. Encouragement for teachers to learn Maths and Science, incentives in both benefits and monetary values. The sooner the government understands that if you offer more, you will receive a better response from industry\workforce. Supply and demand does not just pertain to consumables but human resources as well.

Thanks, for a good post. I am sure boramk will disagree. But hey all are not equal in this world. As for the last part of your post I would like to add that oppressing a certain group out of revenge are not doing that group neither the country any favors. It's doing more harm than any good. All those individuals could have still contributed to this countries growth to the benefit of all and I am sure we would have seen an influx of brains instead of a brain-drain.

Why would I disagree with that :confused: I'm adding you to my ignore, you are clearly not taking what I have been saying this whole thread. The only difference between what Kosmik says and what I believe is that the Bantu Education still affects people today.

No education for Black's indians or coloured were for free. Yes the whites took it all. IT was Apartheid. Not some apartheid. Not almost apartheid.

Aha now I get it, He wants to reap the benefits from abroad "the USA" (just like Mbeki and others) and have a big mouth about whats happening here. Only Mbeki had a reason. So my remark about "knowing ef all about the situation on the ground" rings so true.

the argument that learners who started school in 1994 are not affected by apartheid is not valid,move out of sandton and go to rural sa,the infrastructure backlog and the underqualified apartheid trained educators are still the legacy of apartheid...the effect of apartheid will take a centuary to eradicate.
