Official LG G2

CellC doesnt have any lte enabled towers yet. They mentioned a while back that theyd wait for the outcome of spectrum allocations.

also lte is only available to contract subscribers... so if you are on prepaid no luck

I'm on contract :)

Question for you guys in case I missed it. When do LG plan on releasing the official KitKat ota update?

Nobody knows hence my post above. All we know is that its delayed, and that info came 2 weeks ago, so if you have a twitter account, go follow lg mobile SA.

Maybe they are waiting for the 4.4.3 Kitkat update due to be released about now - there were a few issues with the earlier version.

Maybe, however my experience is that if there is a general one released then they usually release updates for that to fix bugs, keeping the version number. The latest version on LG's kit kat is 20c, which is what i installed. Its the European version and its likely it will come here as well. Most of the issues have been said to be fixed with this release. Also if im not mistaken the 4.4.3 update is mainly for the nexus 5, i could be wrong.

Google supply the basic AOSP version (i.e. 4.4.2 or 4.4.3) which the phone manufacturers take and add their UI's and bloatware. Nexus devices get the clean OS with no extras and within days of its release. However, there were issues with AOSP 4.4.2 (e.g. the email apk) which Google have (hopefully) corrected in this latest update.

I ordered my Spigen Slim Armor, I hope to get it this week. That flip cover with the window is cool but its rubbish! Hope the slim armor will better protect it from the accidents...

What is that update Rich? I also want...

Thats a good question, the tweet in question is a reply to him asking when the kit kat update will be out. So cross your fingers and toes to it being seeded today!

Raithlin, can you tell me how did you go about flashing the cloudypro rom? I read the guide and everything looks straightforward except for changing the baseband, I'm not exactly sure how to approach that.

I was already on Kitkat, so didn't worry about the baseband. It's all as simple as flashing zips anyway. :)

I dont think there's a custom recovery that works with kitkat yet though, which is not cool.

hey man

sorry only saw this now! I tweeted LG South Africa about the KitKat update for the G2 and that was the reply :)

do you have a screen protector on yours? Im noticing that my screen has picked up some very very fine "scratches" from use over the weekend. the only explanation I can think of is when I had my phone and my car key in my pocket at the same time. And my car key is made out of plastic. Please explain how plastic can scratch the glass???

I don't have a screen protector, because I have faith in the acclaimed Gorilla glass... If you say it scratches then maybe one should get a screen protector, but I hate a screen protector! I'm just extra carefull with my phone atm, it just got out of the hospital...
