Official LG G2

Just got the 4.4.2 update on my LG G Pad 8.3, seems LG is rolling it out together with the G2's update.

So I had a good look at the Samsung Galaxy S5 yesterday. Really good device, and nice and snappy. I expected nothing less.

One thing that I noticed right away was the "thickness" of the bezel. I know it sounds really crazy but I have had my LG G2 for a little while now and as soon as I picked up the S5 I noticed right away. I was quite surprised that it made such a difference to the "look" of the phone.

I compared the two side-by-side and the S5 is slightly bigger than the G2, but because of the thinner bezel the G2 has a bigger screen.

Handled the G2 and S5 for the first time on Saturday, but only for a few seconds and in dim lighting. Would have liked to have played more with them to compare but didn't want to invade the privacy of the guys who had them :p

I think I prefer the look and layout of the G2 but I know that the S5 comes with a lot of promotional extras from Samsung that sweeten the deal.

G2 isn't waterproof it is?

Apparently they say its coming some time this month because devices sold in May will come with kit kat installed.

Frustrating its taking so long... I guess its coming out at least.

The lg kit kat rom is going to disappoint you guys if you are expecting big changes, but if you are expecting very little change such as different colour status bar icons then you are set. Im using cloudystock which is based on the lg rom but has some ported features from the g pro 2 such as better camera software where you can record in uhd, and the focus is much faster. All im saying is there are alternatives to make your phone rock :)

Is anyone able to comment on how contract offerings (Vodacom) on the G2 are compared to when the phone first launched last year?

If the phone gets KitKat, that will push the G2 to the top of my list of phones I am considering to upgrade to :)

Im not sure about the start of its life but end of December till now it has remained steady at R349p/m on the smart s contract which at the time I checked was R50 cheaper than the s4 contract. If you read the posts above yours then you will see tweets from lg mobile SA saying the phone will get kit kat this month but no date confirmed yet.

If you are waiting to upgrade why not have a look at whats coming in the form of the s5, one (m8), and the xperia z2. Still the G2 is badass, so you wont be wasting your time getting it :p

I'm using CloudyPro II, and while the KitKat changes are small, the extra speed is welcome as always. Once the official SA release comes, I will most probably go back to stock + Xposed.

Im running cloudystock + xposed + g2 tweaksbox. Decent combo if i say so myself :D

Is this phone available with Telkom Mobile? They don't have it on the deals online but I did go there once and asked about the Huawei P6 (also not on their site) and apparently they had deals on that... So has anyone tried to get one with them?
