Sounds like good replacements although I think Ando is still injured (any update?). Would also prefer Rafael (he should be fit) than Neville

I think ando, rafael, brown are still injured :(

Personally I would really prefer if neville calls it quits :p but if as my guts goes I think O'shea will occupy that right side for now... he needs more "practice" in that position before Tuesday!

as for your cmoment about GOOD? Nana is not a good replacement but hey gotta let him play :P
 
What about Tosic? He plays in Nani's position and is actually good (from the video footage my mates sent me)... Though he is a Partizan footballer, so he is automatically a b@stard :p

Thats true..dont know why he hasn't played recently (he should definitely be fitter that when he first played)

O'shea is okay at best (how I wish Brown were back)..

This has been discussed so many times, I cannot do it all again. Suffice it to say that if the mods applied the rules in the manner which they should and in the manner discussed in rpm's sticky atop this whole section, then there would be no problems. Sadly, that is not the case.
 
Rooney a doubt for the Sunderland calsh. He may have bruised ribs...:(
I hope he recovers in time! Still waiting for confirmation.

Maybe Sir will have to start either Macheda or Wellbeck, or both :)

Carrick : No excuses for United.

Michael Carrick has vowed Manchester United will put right the mistakes that are threatening to wreck their season.

It took an injury-time strike from Federico Macheda to end a two-match losing sequence in the Premier League last Sunday and United's European aspirations are hanging by a thread following the midweek Old Trafford draw with Porto.

The about-turn has been quite startling for a club that seemed well set for an unprecedented quintuple before they were dismantled by Liverpool on March 14.

Having seen one rallying call go unheeded, Sir Alex Ferguson delivered another ahead of the trip to Sunderland.

And this time Carrick is confident United will not let their manager down.

"It has been a strange time," said the England midfielder.

"Obviously we have not helped ourselves because we are doing things that we have not done for so long.

"But we are going to put them right and I am sure we will start tomorrow. Then we can look back and see it as nothing more than a blip during a long season."

Carrick rejects the idea the pressure is starting to tell. After all, it is the third year he has been at United and the previous two titles were not achieved without a major scrap.

And also dismissed out of hand is the theory tiredness has gripped the Red Devils.

"I don't know if pressure is a factor," he said.

"I have been through this each season I have been at the club.

"We expect to be successful. You become used to it.

"Fatigue is not an excuse either. We have a big squad with all the facilities we need so tiredness does not come into it.

"We want to play in every minute of every game and want to be involved in every trophy. We are not complaining about that.

"We just have to play well."

As the Red Devils' goal difference has also suffered during their recent poor run, a clinical victory at the Stadium of Light could be just what United need.

However, with Sunderland's need for points just as desperate as their own, Ferguson's men accept a victory is all they require, no matter how it arrives.

"At this stage it is about winning games and picking up points," said Carrick.

"We all want to play well and win by lots of goals but it is not like that.

"Sometimes it is the games you come through when you are not at your best that give you the best feeling."

So I never got to watch the game but I take that we must've played pretty junk if it took another Macheda goal (although not in the last minute) to save us.

Also amazing how he comes on and scores a minute later.
 
Been trying to follow the match on BBC Text here from the office, but was hectic with another few games going on at the same time as well.

Glad we got the result at the end of the day and that Mascherado is still showing his got what it takes.

Will have to see highlights tomorrow.
Go on UTD, well done :D
