Official Meizu M2 Note thread

Dunno if any of you guys have had this issue, but I have noticed since moving to 5.1.6 on my Meizu, Whatsapp have become very unreliable. Notifications dont come through till I open the app. Telegram does not have this issue. The fix is to go into settins, apps, all .... force stop "security" app.

Same for me on the chinese meizu even with whatsapp selected to be allowed to run in the background.

Also I dropped my meizu today when the alarm woke me up in th morning. No damage except the centre of the screen does not respond to touch anymore. Sigh....

New screen and touch digitizer is only R250 on aliexpress so getting one.

Sigh.

+1 Same issue.

I managed to fix it. Make sure google services is not closed in security app and also disable auto cleaner.

Cleaner - > System and app cache -> Google Play services? Just that one?
Oh I see my auto clean is already off

I did a lot of things before getting it fixed. The Auto Cleaner was the last thing that I did and after that is was fixed., but the others might also contribute to the solution.

1. Swipe up from bottom to open task manager. Press and hold on Whatsapp untill the lock appears on it.
2. In Security and Acceleration, make sure Whatsapp and Google Play services is whitelisted.
3. In Security abd power, make sure whatsapp is allowed in standby mode
4. Make sure in Security that in the Cleaner app, auto clean is disabled.

That resolved my issue.

Not sure how I missed this post, but thanks just finished all of those things. :)

Just saw this in the update changes:

"Fixed a WhatsApp message receiving failure which occurred when theapplication was running in background. (Three solutionsare available: a. Clear the App data; b. remove the user data when updating the firmware; or c. go to Security > Power > Settings and disable “No linked launch when standby”.)"

Meizu's Flyme 6 OS said to debut alongside its Pro 7 flagship

FlyMe-OS-per-Nexus-5-670x593.jpeg

According to a new rumor out of China, Meizu's Flyme 6 OS will make its debut alongside the Chinese company's Pro 7 flagship smartphone next week - September 13 to be precise.

The Flyme OS is already due for a refresh - the version 5 of the operating system debuted almost a year ago. Adding weight to the rumor (that Flyme 6 will arrive alongside the Pro 7) is the fact that Flyme 5 arrived alongside the PRO 5 last September.

As for the Meizu Pro 7, rumors so far have said that the device will be powered by Exynos 8890 chipset, have 4GB and 6GB RAM variants, and feature a curved display as well as 12MP rear camera.

I have to say, I am not happy with how Meizu does updates. It is all good and well that they do push regular updates, but the Android base they build their updates on remain exactly the same. Flyme 5.1.8 which I am on now is still on Android 5.1. Not even 5.1.1. That is exactly the same Android the phone was released with. And with the chips in the M2 Note not supporting Android 7, and Meizu hinting as Android 6 being skipped, it seems we wont be getting any updates on our one year old phones.

Next I will go for Xiaomi I think.

I thought you didn't approve of Mediatek chips?

;)

That was when I thought the GPS issues I had was because their GPS modules they put into their chips is k@k. Turns out my GPS issues was related to the clock on my phone getting incorrect time from Vodacom. Now I dont mind Mediatek again :)

Wileyfox.

They've cleaned up their crap and I updated from 5 to 5.1.1 to 6 and I'll be willing to bet a lot of $$ on the fact I'll be updated to 7 too. I basically get two updates of Cyanogen per one update of Android. Cyanogen OS is also not as unstable as I thought it would be (granted, Cyanogen OS 12 wasn't as stable as I liked it to be...but that's in the past now :)).

Bad picture quality with stock camera app

Hello guys. I dont know if you have noticed, but the picture quality seems to be pretty bad with the stock camera app. Mine struggles to focus and even when it says it is focused, the picture still comes out "fuzzy" looking. I thought maybe something has gone wrong with my actual camera hardware, but I downloaded a 3rd party camera app now and it works flawlessly. Below is a test I did. Tried to get the pics as similar as possible. So if you guys have the same issue, give the Open Camera app a try and see if it works better for you?
