Oh the VPN setting - OnePlus seem to release updates quicker in the Germany version of the ROM - probably to mass test it before it rolls out to the rest of the world. So if you are on that ROM you would get the updates first, the people on other versions would only get it a few days / weeks later

I think the version you have bought / are buying comes with some additional apps and perhaps a custom recovery that is different from the original phone. I have read that the chinese model is different from the rest-of-world model and this might be what the seller is alluding to.

Received my phone today. Customs plus DHL fee was around R490
Pity I haven't had time to set it up and play around yet due to work.
Initial impressions are good, seems like the best bang for buck I could have gotten.
It had Nougat out of the box, can't wait to set it up and start using it, need to get a nano sim.
Ordered 1 March received 9 March, think I could have received it a day earlier but DHL messed up and sent the payment documents to another person in Cape Town with the same name.

Congrats! Enjoy! What phone is the 3t replacing?

EDIT: You would hard pressed to find a better phone for under R7k! 3T is every bit as good as a S7, P9, Pixel...

Well, I decided not to spend crazy money on phones, so I had my Galaxy Note 3 for over 3 years, cracked the screen properly, doesn't even go on and had Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 as a spare (WeChat deal and to try out the brand), so I have been using the Xiaomi since Jan when the Galaxy died.

So either way it is a massive upgrade. I paid more or less the same amount for my Galaxy more than 3 years ago.

Compared to the stuff announced at MWC, this must be the very best bang for buck phone around. Honestly if you have a 3 or 3T you should be fine until middle of next year, not even bother with this year's stuff.
I still have a Note 4, which im taking through. Doing a fine job still. Going to add a custom Rom soon.

Note 4 is a fantastic device. Borrowed mine to a friend after I got the S7 Edge. He is loving it.

The only app that does not agree with the Note 4 and most phones based on +20nm SoCs is Snapchat, makes it heat up a whole lot.

To be honest i dont use snapchat, i leave that to the teenagers ;)

But im waiting for the next One Plus after the 3T. I had the Original One Plus, but sold it.

I might look to root and get the Oxygen rom installed. Just have to look over at XDA developers to see what is good.

The 3T camera is surprsingly good no matter what people say. I had a look recently, and it takes some crisp pics.

Hi guys.

I am considering getting a 3T. My only concern is what the local support is like if any.

Lol, I love Snapchat, can put up all kinds of stupid stuff and know that in 24hours it won't be there horrify me.

If the 3T is anything to go by the next OnePlus is going to be incredible.

I really was not sure about OnePlus until the 3 came along, they out did themselves last year.

One Plus the very 1st one, came out with amazing reviews. Each one that followed had good reviews, so they have done well. Considering the price, and the specs you get, its an awesome buy. Had they not done the silly invitation type thing, they could have sold alot of devices.

For those who purchased from the Aliexpress link in this thread.
What colour is your device?
I just noticed that mine seems much lighter that the online pictures:
OP3T vs OP3.jpg
The above is a pic from google
OP3T comparison.jpg
This is my phone side by side with an online pic.
When compared to an earlier pic it looks much more like the OnePlus 3's colour.

Thanks, will check it out.
Didn't really do much with the phone, left it at home today, will check when I get there eventually.
Noted the model number is A3010 though.

Yeah, A3010 is definitely 3T. For a second there I thought you may have got a 3!

A3010 is a 3T. You sure you took the correct colour? Well there are only 2 colours which is Gun Metal and Gold, or as they call it, soft gold.
