Oneplus 5

anyone else having problems with the google play music app on the Oneplus 5 ?

It used to work fine but since the last firmware update (i assume this is the cause) the app doesnt work properly.
The music plays but there's no sound coming through on my headphones, tried vlc on the phone and it works.

Edit: i'm not streaming music, just playing songs i have stored on the phone itself.

My firmware and app are both up to date on my OP5. Play Music works fine, with or without headphones. Maybe try rebooting and/or clearing the app's data.

(I stream, but technically the files were cached locally)

Anyone having battery drain issues on the latest firmware? Mine has taken a definite knock.

Seems to be fairly widespread on OnePlus forums. Suggested fixes include wiping the cache via the boot menu, but I'm worried I'd lose my settings and other stuff.

Wiping your cache shouldn't affect your apps. It's not the same as clearing all app data in the respective app settings.

I haven't noticed battery drain, but then again I only recently updated the firmware. If you haven't already, it will probably help if you disable background activity for all unimportant apps.

Can anyone confirm that there is only one radio on the oneplus 5t supporting 23 lte bands.

I'm thinking of getting a phone from India or Hong Kong and want to make sure lte works in South Africa.

Previously only the UK models supported SA lte bands on the oneplus 3

My Indian version works fine. I don't know if they all using the same radio though cause there is a global version which is often punted to international markets.

OnePlus 5T users, has anyone had the guts to install any GSI roms? Pixel Experience, LineageOS etc?

I installed Lineage OS on my 3T which went very well until I wanted to take photos. Lineage OS Photos are noticeably worse from both front and back cameras. That was important for me so I flashed back to stock Oxygen OS. Different camera apps make no difference to this. It was a while back and they may have fixed it by now, not sure but something to be aware of.

I am running Lineage on an older tablet of mine and its super stellar otherwise. Gets the latest security updates every two weeks so zero complaints in other respects.

Yeah I remember the same thing from Cyanogenmod days on my S3, the camera was really unstable. But I'm itching to try a pure Pixel experience, good thing that project Treble is making things slightly easier these days.
