Yes. The thread explains how to get a USB configured to work with the decoder. I don't have a decoder so I have not tried it. But the info is there.
 
Hello there have got a difference question, what file format does OVHD flash stick use , i have tried formatting my normal stick to NTFS,FAT,FAT 32 and trying to rename my stick to OpenView Stick but doesn’t work on the new OVHD decoder, has anyone tried to put the original stick on computer and check if it comes with special software or anything?

I was at Kloppers today to purchase a OV 64Gig memory stick where I advised to purchase the 32 Gig as they had had many returns of the 64 Gig version...and yes...they did have stock of the 64...but strongly advised against purchasing it. Any one have bad experiences with the bigger memory stick?
 
Bought 2x 32Gb OVHD memory sticks yesterday from PnP. Was marked as 32Gb on packaging but when inserted showed up as 64Gb FAT32

Good day,
I have a different question.
I have installed the Quad- LNB.
Today I tested my openview with about a 5 m aerial cable. Had no problems. Got proper picture etc.
So I started doing the installation. The problem is that my dish is around 20 – 30 m away from were the decoder plugged into my TV. But now I am not getting a signal. I have installed an Elliese Setback Amplifier around half way. But still no luck.
Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong? If the distance is the problem, how can I increase the signal as I do not have the option of cutting down on the distance.
 
Set back amps can't be used to boost signals from the LNB.
The decoders MUST be connected directly to the LNB.
30 m of cable is not ideal but workable.
The problem of low signal levels means antenna is not properly aligned and the skew angle adjustment of the LNB is out.
Do you have access to a FSM?
There are many simple satellite apps available that can be used for antenna alignment.
Setback amps do not operate over the frequency band required, neither do they allow the decoder to control LNB making them unsuitable for signal boosting. In fact, set back amps are a very poor solution even for normal RF reception of terrestrial signals.

I have decided to halt everything and get a dish installed much closer to the decoder.

Make sure though that the LNB installed is at least an LMX 501, which has one UNiversal port. The OVHD decoder does not work all that well on a DSTV Unicable port. The LMX 502Z only had unicable ports available.
 
Yup, hanging on to my old decoders until they fail, Easyview package.
But I would go for the 64GB USB rather. 32 will be too small for our family.
